See How Rihanna Is Taking The Fashion World To New Heights
It’s no surprise to hear that Rihanna has made such an impact on the fashion industry. She’s cool and she wears what’s cool. Plus, Rihanna is gorgeous and all of the girls want to look just like her.
Rihanna has been making some big news in the fashion world today on Wednesday, May 25. Tomorrow, May 26, the “Kiss It Better” singer will release the latest installment of her popular Puma Suede Creeper, a platform sneaker that everyone has been seen wearing. In fall 2015, the $120 sneaker sold out online within three hours. The kicks have been seen on everyone from The Weeknd, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham, and Cara Delevingne.
Billy Wash was involved in the design process for Rihanna’s Puma creepers since the start. He said that he’s not surprised by the popularity of her shoes.
“I believed in the shoe 100 percent. I knew the reaction when I was making them just for me,” he added.
Rihanna’s creeepers have made such a huge mark in the fashion world that in December 2014, it was announced that she would become the creative director of the athletic brand. At New York Fashion Week back in February, she described her Fenty line for Puma as “if the Addams Family went to the gym,” and has expanded her shoe line to include furry slides.
When it comes to Rihanna, she “has a very clear idea of what she wanted. She wanted that gumsole. She wanted the pink and green. She made great choices,” Walsh says. “Rihanna has amazing taste.”
You better have your credit cards ready. More photos of the Rihanna x Puma Creepers for Spring 2016 have been released and will include three new colorways. The line includes the classic black and white, along with a new green bordeaux. Each of the sneakers features a suede upper along with leather accents on the formstripes and the brand name on the tongue. The black and green bordeaux will release at Puma retailers tomorrow, while the white pairs will release soon after.
Not only is Rihanna the creative director of Puma, but she’s also the contributing creative director of Stance socks. Now in her latest collaborative project with Dior, she helped design a line of sunglasses inspired by Geordi La Forge from Star Trek. The collection aptly titled “Rihanna” features one frame that comes in your choice of six colors.

Most of the styles cost a whopping $840 while the 24-karat version costs $1,950. The Rihanna collection will be available in Dior stores by June. Rihanna took to Instagram to tease her new line and talked about the inspiration behind it.
“I spent a day at Dior with their eyewear design team. I started by looking through all the archives to see what they’ve done in the past (and) then got acquainted with all the new materials. I literally sat there and drew and drew until I was happy with the design, and the team illustrated it for me right then and there. We picked materials and colors that same day, and after that it was a matter of weeks before I saw the first prototype.”
Dior’s CEO Sidney Toledano released a statement about Rihanna’s collection.
“We are very pleased to partner for the second time with Rihanna. She is an artist, an entertainer, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a style icon for today’s generation.”
Rihanna last made headlines for her street style when she stepped out in a tie-dye Nine Inch Nails T-shirt with ripped jeans, blue boots, and a white chinchilla fur wrap. She was spotted at the Up and Down nightclub on late Tuesday night, according to the Daily Mail.
