Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell’s wedding plans are reportedly in jeopardy. Although the two have remained together since an emotional Bachelor finale, it now appears like the move to Higgins’ home in Denver has proven too much for Bushnell. Will they really call off the wedding unless they move back to L.A.?
According to OK! Magazine , the move to Denver lies at the root of the problems between Higgins and Bushnell. Apparently, the reality star has been struggling to find purpose in her new home and cannot see herself living there for an extended amount of time. The situation has gotten so bad that Bushnell has issued an ultimatum to Higgins.
“Lauren has been complaining to friends about how unhappy she is and how she has no purpose in Denver,” an insider explained. “She can’t see herself living there permanently so Lauren has called off the wedding until Ben agrees to move to L.A.!”
For his part, Higgins has tried to help Bushnell adjust to the new surroundings. Although he has encouraged her to find work, Bushnell has been unable to secure employment. This has led her to a state of laziness and has even caused Higgins to second guess their future together.
“He’s begged Lauren to get a job, get settled and make a new life for herself,” the source continued. “But she just sits at home all day while he works. She used to be a driven motivated young woman, and now she’s completely lazy. At this point, Ben agrees with her decision to call off the wedding.”
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry , things have devolved to the point where Higgins and Bushnell have even called off their engagement. Unless they move back to L.A., Bushnell is unwilling to proceed with the wedding plans, which ultimately threatens their future together.
At this point, it does not seem likely that Higgins will uproot and make the move to L.A. After all, he has a good job in Denver and appears to enjoy his life in Colorado. His engagement to Bushnell hinged on her moving to his hometown and not the other way around. To add more complications to the issue, Higgins and Bushnell’s life together hasn’t been entirely smooth after the Bachelor finale.
Of course, one of the biggest issues that threatened their relationship was the fact that Ben Higgins told his runner-up and current Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher that he loved her. In fact, the two struggled with this after the show ended and admitted that it was a difficult hurdle to overcome.
That being said, the two have remained together for some five months after filming ended. Although the two appear happy whenever they go out in public, the fact that Bushnell has not found a purpose in Denver is definitely a problem they will have to work out, especially if they want to get married in the near future.
Despite the reports of a coming split, the Hollywood Gossip is reporting that Bushnell is still planning on going through with the wedding. In a recent interview on What’s Up Weekly at Indiana University, Bushnell hinted that she is ready to start the wedding planning process.
“We’ve been engaged now for a lot longer than when the show ended, so I’m ready to at least start planning,” she stated in the interview. “Maybe by the end of this year.”
If the wedding does take place this year, there is some speculation that the ceremony might be televised live. However, considering the conflicting reports, it appears as though Higgins and Bushnell still have a lot of things to work through before they walk down the aisle.
