Karrueche Tran Disses Fan That Calls Her ‘Chris Brown’s Ex,’ Says ‘My Name Is Karrueche’

Karrueche Tran has been adamant about distancing herself from former boyfriend Chris Brown since calling off their longtime relationship last year, so when one fan took to Twitter to refer to Karrueche as “Chris Brown’s ex girl,” Tran wasted no time in responding to the fan’s attempted diss.

The exchange began on Thursday after Karrueche took to Twitter to reveal her plans to try out a new natural beauty trend, telling fans, “new beauty trend: natural fresh makeup! No more super contour heavy makeup and fly away lashes. Ready for this!”

Despite Tran’s upbeat status, one fan took to the social media site to respond to Karrueche’s post with a curt, “did i ask,” prompting the model to retort, “yes you did,” the Shade Room reports.

Following Karrueche’s response, the fan then shared another post that aimed to diss the model by referring to her as Chris Brown’s former girlfriend, rhetorically asking, “isn’t this chris browns ex girl lmao.”

“@madikaylor my name is Karrueche,” the model shot back in response to the fan’s attempted diss, prompting other fans to flood Karrueche’s post with words of encouragement for standing up for herself against the fan’s comments.

“@karrueche that’s right baby, stand your ground & let these little internet trolls know wassup,” one fan wrote in response to Karrueche’s post.

Another added, “@karrueche they better put some respek on bae name.”

The news comes just one day after Chris Brown dropped his new single, “Grass Ain’t Greener,” which is widely rumored to have been inspired by his former relationship with Karrueche Tran.

In the track, Chris Brown reflects on a former love interest that has seemingly moved on without him despite his attempts to reconcile, singing, “Sick of leaving messages on your cell / But you never f*** with none of them / Girl you had somebody that really cared / How you f*** it up, girl it’s not fair.”

Brown then goes on to refer to the girl in question as “the one to talk to on the side,” leading some fans to interpret Chris’ lyrics as a diss toward Karrueche, who was involved in Brown’s highly publicized love triangle with Rihanna in 2012.

Despite Brown’s attempts to reunite with Karrueche following their abrupt split in 2015, Tran previously opened up to BBC News about her desire to distance herself from the “Back to Sleep” singer in an effort to focus on her modeling and acting career.

“Negative stuff was being said and being brought up. A lot of people were like, ‘She’s only famous because of Chris Brown,'” Karrueche explained of her continued association with Chris. “I want to respond but I’ve learned it’s best to just let it go and not even put any energy towards that. I used to date him, and now as I am growing into myself and maturing and getting my career together, I am starting to have my own name without having to be associated.”

Karrueche concludes by noting that her tumultuous romance with Chris Brown has often made it difficult for her to pursue business relationships, revealing, “A lot of people think I am a weak individual because of past situations and when it comes to a business sometimes people don’t want to be involved with somebody like that. Which is understandable, but it sucks, because I’m not a weak person. It’s these people who sit behind their phones and just say mean things, just because.”
