Kate Upton Engaged: The Details On Her Huge $1.5 Million 8-Carat Diamond Ring
Kate Upton is engaged and sporting a huge 8-carat diamond ring worth an alleged $1.5 million.
According to a new report by E! News, Justin Verlander popped the question to the model with the huge diamond ring designed by famed jeweler Anita Ko, who spoke out about the stunning rock to the site this week.
“Justin and I collaborated on creating the most perfect one-of-a-kind ring that is rare and of exceptional quality… just like their love,” the jeweler said just two days after Kate Upton debuted the stunning rock on the 2016 Met Gala red carpet.

Ko also spoke out about the huge ring to People Style Watch, where the designer went into further details about how he and Justin collaborated to create the unique design for Upton.
People Style Watch reported that Anita Ko and Justin Verlander “created a unique twist on the popular single solitaire, setting the (enormous) center stone inside delicate ‘swags’ of pavé diamonds and setting it all on a diamond-studded band.”
Us Weekly revealed that Upton’s engagement ring is worth upwards of $1.5 million and alleged that Kate’s stunning new jewelry appears to feature a huge round 8-carat diamond.
The site speculated that the stunning piece is “set in a six prong setting” and also has “even more diamonds throughout,” which is why Upton’s new jewelry set the Detroit Tigers baseball star more than a cool $1 million.
Kate Upton broke the news of her engagement to the baseball player, who is 10 years her elder, on the red carpet on May 2, while a representative for the model-turned-actress also confirmed the news to Us Weekly and revealed that the loved-up couple “have been dating for the last three years.”
“I’m really excited. He asked me right before the season started so we’ve been keeping it on the down low for quite a while,” Upton confessed after revealing her engagement for the first time on E!’s Live From The Red Carpet from the 2016 Met Gala.
“I’m excited to be finally able to share it with the world!” Kate added, noting that despite three years together, she and Justin are in no rush to walk down the aisle and are currently “enjoying the engagement period.”
Upton’s stunning engagement ring caused quite a stir online, with a number of social media users gushing over the rock on Twitter.
“Kate Upton’s ring tho. good job JV,” @LKRuedisale tweeted out about the million dollar ring, while @olympiabardis simply wrote on the 140-character site, “I want Kate Upton’s engagement ring.”
@Channel955 also joked about the huge stone on the social media site, tweeting out, “Kate Upton’s new engagement ring from Justin Verlander is worth close to $1.5 million… I just want $1 for a snack!”
Kate previously opened up about her and Verlander’s romance to E! News back in March, where she joked that the couple’s three-year milestone “seems like forever in Hollywood.”
“For us, we always try and work on our communication,” Kate admitted to the celebrity news site in an interview earlier this year. “We’re very open with one another and we’re each other’s best friends. He’s definitely my best friend, so I think that helps a lot.”
Upton’s admission followed Justin previously revealing to Forbes last year that despite their hectic lifestyles and huge bank accounts, the two still have a very “normal relationship” when they’re together.
“Kate’s there a lot for me and we’re just normal people,” Justin told Forbes of his and Kate’s romance in June 2015, “You know, a normal relationship—believe it or not.”
