‘The Real Housewives Of Dallas’ Ratings Drastically Decline, Bravo Struggling To Make ‘RHOD’ And ‘RHONY’ Appealing
The Real Housewives of Dallas is the newest addition to the Bravo network, but it may not have been the best decision. Several of the cast members aren’t going over well with fans, and the ones that the fans do like just haven’t resonated with enough viewers to make it count. Bravo has been trying to expand to several cities across the nation, and Dallas was the latest experiment. Between the constant poop talk and the high society charity events, there isn’t much interest among regular viewers.
There was plenty of hype for The Real Housewives of Dallas before the show began airing. Several fans from the Housewives franchise were excited to try a new show with fresh faces. While the premiere numbers weren’t terrible, they have been declining with each episode that has aired.
According to Radar Online, The Real Housewives of Dallas is likely doomed. Bravo is shocked at the snub the show is getting, especially with it being a big city. The problem may not just be the Dallas franchise, but also The Real Housewives of New York City. Ratings for these shows are at an all-time low, which is surprising following the great ratings from The Real Housewives of Atlanta and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Complaints have been coming in through various social media outlets since The Real Housewives of Dallas began airing. The women are all very “high society,” but their problems are that of the average woman for the most part. Their talk about poop and excessive day-drinking hasn’t exactly given fans a reason to make it a huge hit for the Bravo network. The drama between LeeAnne Locken and the other women has mildly piqued interests, but now there are rumors that she is no longer speaking to the other cast members. The Real Housewives of Dallas was taped last year, so a lot has changed. Several of these charity events that will be seen throughout the season were held last year. While there is some interest in seeing how much further the feuding with LeeAnne and the rest of the women goes, there isn’t much to look forward to in the long-term.
Aside from The Real Housewives of Dallas having terrible ratings, the premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City was significantly down as well. It is unclear what has been affecting the latter franchise, especially with all of the drama those ladies have going on. Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan are still along for the ride, but with newer cast members added, the dynamic isn’t the same as fans had hoped. Could the Housewives franchises just be a thing of the past? Several of the other cities have displayed stellar ratings, which leaves Bravo confused with the recent decline.
After The Real Housewives of Dallas premiered just four weeks ago, many believed it would be canceled after the first season. Since Bravo is a cable network, it will likely air the entire first season even if the show will be canceled. Some networks choose to pull a canceled show immediately, leaving fans in limbo. The Real Housewives of Dallas will at least give fans closure, but it is unclear when the reunion portion will be filmed. Since the show was taped last year, the Dallas ladies likely have a lot to say now that they can see the playback of each episode. The low ratings have been disappointing for the Bravo network, but not shocking for fans. The Real Housewives of Dallas was hyped up to be one of the best additions to the Housewives franchise yet, and it just didn’t live up to what was promised to the fans.
