Jay Z And Beyonce Splitting?
Jay Z and Beyonce are widely regarded as hip-hop’s most powerful couple, with both of them being musical giants in the genre. They also have another similarity in that both have an astute business acumen, with Jay Z’s most recent notable venture being the Tidal music streaming subscription service.
On the other hand, Beyonce owns a melange of fashion lines that include House of Deréon and most recently, Ivy Park, an active wear line designed for women who love to look stylish even when working out. Having been married for eight years now, Jay Z and Beyonce are rumored to be splitting, with the two recently being spotted without their wedding rings. The following is a report on this by E! Online.
“Photographed backstage during the show, Bey was notably missing her $5 million diamond rock. Some might chalk it up to her taking extra precautions while performing. However, the timing is a little too coincidental in relation to all the speculation surrounding the topic of infidelity on Lemonade.”
However, the lack of rings has been speculated to be the result of their tattoo replacements, which both have. However, after being spotted with a bandaid on her finger a while back, it has been rumored that she had attempted to remove it with the ink now slowly but definitely fading.
The visual album — Lemonade — seems to have a fiery theme, with anger, being the most conspicuous element. Beyonce has included some powerfully angry lyrics such as “I don’t wanna lose my pride but I’m a f— me up a bitch”, which has served to give credibility to the breakup rumors probably as a result of Jay Z cheating on her.
In 2014, Jay Z was involved in an altercation with Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, in an elevator, after attending the Met Gala. In the video released by TMZ, the angry sister swung at Jay Z several times. The reason for this was however not clear. The following is the video. It was alleged that the cause of the assault was Jay Z’s infidelity. The couple later released a statement in regards to the video, which went viral. It read as follows.
“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
This is as reported by Bustle. Back to Lemonade, some of the controversial lyrics in the album include “[Cheating with] Becky with the good hair,” which seems to refer to the woman Jay Z is having an affair with, and in the “Don’t Hurt Yourself” video, she takes off her ring and throws it away singing, “If you try this s**t again, you gon’ lose your wife.”
However, Beyonce, on Wednesday during her performance of “Halo,” dedicated the song to her husband saying “I want to dedicate this song to my beautiful husband. I love you so much.” Presently, her Lemonade album is projected to sell more than 500,000 copies in the first week. This is according to Billboard. The following an excerpt of the statement by the site.
“Beyonce’s Lemonade will loom large on the next Billboard 200 albums chart. Industry forecasters now suggest the set could debut at No. 1 on the May 14-dated list with more than 500,000 copies sold and more than 700,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending April 28. (On April 27, sources said Lemonade was on track to sell possibly 450,000, with its equivalent unit total at 550,000 or more.”
