New York, NY – Maury Povich is about to face some stiff competition. According to Digtriad, Health Street is currently offering DNA tests to folks in New York City. However, instead of paying a trip to their offices, a vehicle will be dispatched to your home. Potential baby daddies all across the city are probably quaking in their sneakers right about now.
Jared Rosenthal, owner and operator of the mobile DNA facility, says that a lot of his business comes from fathers who are having some serious doubts about their children. “They flag us down, they pull us over, they talk to us,” Rosenthal explained to The Associated Press. “Sometimes, because of the nature of the services, they want to be a little more discreet about it, but they do come or they’ll call the number.”
Here’s how it works: After getting in touch with the mobile DNA testing vehicle, be it by waving your arms wildly or placing a phone call, Rosenthal and his laboratory will pay a visit to your neck of the woods. Once all participants have had their cheeks swabbed, the evidence is set away for analysis. Generally speaking, concerned parties will receive results in about two days.
Although “Who’s Your Daddy?” is emblazoned across the side of the recreational vehicle, the company also offers its customers on-site drug testing. Health Street actually provides a wide range of services, including background checks and court ordered drug screenings.
Not surprsingly, Rosenthal explained that he deals with a very unique assortment of people on a fairly regular basis. During a recent interview with The New York Post , Rosenthal said, “It’s heartbreak hotel. It’s really, really tough sometimes. ‘It’s just drama, a lot of drama. You see a man come in with a baby. You see them together and you just hope that he’s the father.”
Is a mobile DNA testing facility a good idea?
