Rachel Roy: I Respect Beyoncé’s Marriage to Jay-Z
Rachel Roy is confronting Beyoncé’s Beehive — her legion of faithful followers–who has accused Roy of causing big time issues between Beyoncé and husband, Jay Z. It is rumored that Rachel is the woman Jay Z allegedly cheated on Beyoncé with and fans are upset. They took to her Twitter account to confront Rachel early Sunday morning.
Beyoncé released her new visual album on Saturday, entitled “Lemonade.” It was a Home Box Office (HBO) Network exclusive. In some of the lyrics, Beyonce refers to Jay Z’s mistress as “Becky with the good hair.” Fans token Rachel Roy as “Becky” because of her close relationship with Jay-Z. She was married to his business partner, Damon Dash.
Fans came for Rachel Roy after her Instagram post, saying she taunted Beyoncé. Roy caption said, “good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for our selfies, or self truths, always.”
Roy is said to be the cause behind the infamous elevator fight between Solange and Jay Z in 2014. The video captured Solange punching Jay Z while Beyoncé stood by seemingly detached from the commotion surrounding her.
A 42-year-old, fashion designer, Roy deleted the post but not before the Beyhive commented in droves. Rachel’s Wikipedia page underwent multiple revisions on Sunday morning as angry Beyoncé fans defaced and vandalized her Wiki page.
The Beyhive has gone from saying she “died under a lemonade stand” to “calling her a “dusty side h*e,” Beyoncé’s fans didn’t hold back. And Rachel is done with their disrespect.
According to TMZ, Roy tweeted, “I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”
Rachel has never denied involvement with Jay Z but notes she respects the sanctity of marriage.
According to Hollywoodlife.com, Rachel and Beyoncé have long history together. They report that Solange attacked Jay Z in the elevator after the Met Ball in 2014 because she found out that Jay and Rachel’s friendship was “too close for comfort.”
Cheating rumors have plagued the Jay Z and Beyoncé union for years. In many of her songs on Lemonade, Beyoncé confronts many of the cheating rumors. After two years, Rachel Roy is back in the middle of the said rumors.
In her fourth song, “Sorry,” Beyoncé sings about a man’s lame attempt of an apology after he cheated on his woman.
“Middle fingers up, put them hands high,” Beyoncé sings. “Wave it in his face, tell him, boy, bye. Tell him, boy, bye, middle fingers up. I ain’t thinking ’bout you.” So good. The song ends by calling out the girl he cheated with: “He better call Becky with the good hair.”
Immediately the album and lyrics went viral, thrusting Rachel Roy back into the limelight. Roy is the ex-wife of Jay-Z business partner of Damon Dash. She has been in the news recently because Dash was seeking $2.5 million in damages. Dash sued Roy for several corporate crimes related to Royale Etenia LLC and Topson Downs. Both are fashion companies the couple began together. Among the charges were a breach of contract and the interference of cash distribution. Damon Dash lost custody of his two girls to Roy; despite his lawsuit.
On top of dealing with a divorce, now she’s dealing with the Beyhive. Beyoncé fans have said, “Mess with Bey, you mess with us.” Rachel deleted the message about five hours after posting it. There are many awesome moments in Lemonade, but the revelation of “Becky” has taken the album to new heights.
