Caitlyn Jenner Defends Ted Cruz While Donald Trump Supports Her Bathroom Choice [Video]
Caitlyn Jenner was quick to defend Ted Cruz on the finale of I Am Cait last Sunday, but today it is Donald Trump who is supporting the reality TV star.
As the presidential race heats up, Jenner has found herself smack dab in the middle of it all. Caitlyn is not shy about voicing her political views, especially during the current season of her E! reality show. The very Republican Jenner has clashed with her new group of very liberal transgender girlfriends, causing a lot of tension and friction that makes for great television.

In the season finale of I Am Cait, Caitlyn Jenner defended Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz as all of her new friends tried to get her to understand that Cruz does not support the transgender community. Jenner for her part called Cruz “misunderstood,” which started a whole other debate about how she is supportive of a man who is actually not supportive of her.
Although all of Caitlyn’s friends make it clear that Jenner is supporting a party that does not support her, she would not budge on her views. The reality star admitted that she is voting for Cruz because overall she feels “he can take care of the big issues.” There was no backing down for Jenner, who not only stood her ground but is apparently standing behind Ted Cruz.

Even though the show is shot months in advance, Jenner has not changed her stance regarding her support of Cruz. In fact, about a month ago, she revealed that she would like to be Cruz’s trans-ambassador should he become the next president.
While Caitlyn Jenner has taken the time to defend Cruz, Donald Trump is blasting the transgender bathroom law in North Carolina and supporting Jenner. In an interview with the Today show’s Matt Lauer, Trump showed his support for Caitlyn’s bathroom choice and also gave his two cents on the North Carolina bathroom law.
“North Carolina did something that was very strong, and they’re paying a big price. People using whatever bathrooms they want, there has been so little trouble. The problem is the strife, the economic punishment they’re taking. You know, there’s a big move to create new bathrooms, the problem with that, for transgenders, first of all I think that’s discriminatory in a certain way, it would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country.”

In case you are unaware of what is going one in North Carolina, lawmakers recently passed a bill making it illegal for a transgender person to use a bathroom based on the sex they identify with. The law forces all transgender men and women to use the bathroom of the sex that is listed on their birth certificate. The law has caused outrage and has prompted numerous boycott of the state. Bruce Springsteen recently cancelled a concert in North Carolina to show his disapproval of the new law, and he is just one example of many who are boycotting the state.
It is not just Donald Trump’s support of the transgender community that has people talking but his support for Caitlyn Jenner as well. After Trump defended the transgender community, Matt Lauer wasted no time bringing up the Jenner, asking if she would be allowed to use any bathroom she wanted at Trump Tower.
The presidential hopeful responded by saying, “That is correct.”
Caitlyn Jenner may have defended Ted Cruz on her reality show I Am Cait, but it is actually Donald Trump who is supporting her and the rest of the transgender community. It remains to be seen yet if Trump’s interview today will have any impact on Jenner’s voting support.
What do you think about Trump’s anti-transgender laws stance? Does it change how you feel about him? Also, what are your thoughts on Jenner’s continued support of Cruz despite arguments that he does not support her people?
