‘Bill And Ted 3’ Going Into Production, And The Wyld Stallyns Could Be Headed To London
It’s been confirmed: Bill and Ted 3 is finally going into production. Not only that, Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves (Bill and Ted, respectively) will be coming back, too, reports The Mirror. According to Alex Winter, who plays Bill S. Preston, Esq., the third installment in the Bill and Ted franchise has been in the works for six years now, and things are finally falling into place to make franchise into a long-awaited trilogy.
“We have a script, we have a director, we have a studio…”
Bill and Ted 3 is reportedly going to be a follow-up to the 1989 cult classic film Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and its 1991 sequel Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey. Both of the cult comedies have become classics with huge followings, and now 25 years after the second installment, the production on the third finally seems like a sure thing.
“We’re knee-deep in the script, it’s been written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who wrote the first two, they are fantastic writers, and the script is great. We have a script, we have a director, we have a studio – we’re just trying to nail down a start date.”
Fans of the original Bill and Ted and its sequel have been waiting for years for the third installment in the series. Of course, fans also wanted to see the series continue with its original co-stars. Now that Winters has confirmed that he will be reprising his role and Keanu Reeves will be coming back as Theodore Logan, fans (and likely their long-suffering children who have been forced to sit through the movies, too) finally have something to cling to.
The script is written, and it was written by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson (the writers of the first two Bill and Ted flicks), so fans can be assured of a decent level of continuity when Bill and Ted3 debuts, reports Movie Web.

Alex Winter also teased earlier this month that Bill and Ted 3 may begin production as early as the end of 2016 or possibly early 2017.
Now, Bill and Ted fans who have been searching for updates and clinging to tidbits have a little more to tide them over. An unidentified source has claimed that the storyline for Bill and Ted3 will bring Bill and Ted (otherwise known as the Wyld Stallyns) to London for (at least part of) their next adventure. Or journey. Or nursing home tour, considering their advancing years.

“The script is already written for the third film and much of it is set in the UK. The whole film is going to have a huge British feel. They’ll time-travel through London and meet historical figures, meaning the Queen and Winston Churchill could get cameos.”
Keanu Reeves weighed in on Bill and Ted3 back in 2014, and he teased that the as-yet-to-be-named third installment in the Bill and Ted franchise will showcase multiple versions of Bill and Ted. Reeves also leaked that the plot could center around music, saying that if Bill and Ted don’t write a song to save the world by a particular date, the universe itself will unravel.
The idea of the plot of Bill and Ted 3 involving London, England, isn’t much of a surprise or a stretch. At the end of the earlier films in the Bill and Ted cult comedy series, the title characters find themselves married to a pair of women named Joanna and Elizabeth, who are princesses from Medieval England, and Bill and Ted remain married and ultimately have children with their wives.
There is no word on whether or not any of the actresses from the first two Bill and Ted Movies would be returning for the third installment.
Indeed, aside from Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, there have been no further original cast members officially locked into roles for Bill and Ted 3. Alex Winter has teased that some familiar faces may resurface in the third Bill and Ted, but at least one beloved character won’t be coming back. George Carlin played Rufus, one of the most beloved characters of the Bill and Ted franchise; tragically, he passed away in 2008.
Just last year, Alex Winter told the world that Bill and Ted 3 would either happen “really soon or never.” It looks like it happened “really soon.” At the very least, fans are hoping that it doesn’t happen “never.” What do you think? Is Bill and Ted 3 a good idea or will it go the way of Dumb and Dumber To?
