NBA rumors have been swirling around Kevin Durant. The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. There is a strong belief that if the Thunder do not win an NBA Championship this season, he could very well be on the way out to find a team that can contend for a title. According to Sports Illustrated, many teams in the National Basketball Association will be making Durant their number one target during free agency.

Signing a talent like Kevin Durant will help turn around a franchise right away or potentially make a team a legitimate title contender. If the former MVP does decide to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder, he will be targeting a team that will help him win an NBA Championship. There are other reasons Durant would leave Oklahoma City. Signing with a bigger market team will get Durant more exposure, popularity, and more advertisement.

Resigning Kevin Durant will be the Oklahoma City Thunder’s number one priority this upcoming summer. Signing with Oklahoma City might be one of the best options for Durant since the Thunder can offer him the most money. If Durant does decide to stay with OKC, he could still leave next year, and as a 10-year veteran, he will be eligible to sign a max contract deal of around $110 million. That being said, Durant staying with Oklahoma City for one more year will earn him more money the year after.

The Golden State Warriors signing Kevin Durant might sound a little crazy, but for Durant, it will give him the best chance to win an NBA Championship. The Warriors this season have done the unthinkable by tying the Chicago Bulls for the most wins in the National Basketball Association. The addition of Durant will make Golden State the most star-studded team in the NBA.

Pat Riley and the Miami Heat are always on the lookout to sign big name free agents. Going after Kevin Durant will give the Heat a superstar for the next several years. If Miami can make a decent playoff run this season. It will give the Heat some momentum heading into free agency. The main concern for Miami signing Durant will their salary cap issue. The Heat will have to sign Dwayne Wade and Hassan Whiteside. Both players will command high a salary.

Earlier this season, the Washington Wizards expressed interest in Kevin Durant. The former MVP might be looking to come back home this upcoming summer. To get Durant’s interest, the Wizards could sign his former coach Scott Brooks. John Wall and Bradley Beal have formed one of the best back court duos in the NBA. The addition of Durant would propel Washington to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking for a franchise player who can take over for Kobe Bryant. He also would love to rebuild a championship team for a franchise that has been known to compete for years.

This summer, Kevin Durant will be one of the most sought after free agents. Several teams in the NBA have shown interest in signing Durant. Signing a short-term deal will be very beneficial for the former MVP. That way, he can get the most money in the coming years. Winning an NBA Championship for the next couple of years will be what get Durant’s attention.
