Apparently, ‘Suicide Squad’ Features A Lot Of Ben Affleck’s Batman
While Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been savaged critically following its release at the end of last month, one of the few positives from the blockbuster was the performance of Ben Affleck as Batman.
In fact, some critics were quick to insist that Ben Affleck’s incarnation of the Caped Crusader was already right up there as one of the best ever seen on the big screen.
So news that Ben Affleck’s Batman will play a more prominent part in Suicide Squad will leave many movie fans rather ecstatic.
Rumors that Suicide Squad is going to include quite a few scenes with Batman were started on Heroic Insider, when the hosts of the YouTube video series discussed a recent rumor that insisted the superhero icon has much more than a cameo in the film.

On the video, the duo explain, “The film tested recently, they had test screenings, and according to sources, check this out, there is a lot more Batman in the movie than they are letting on.”
It was previously confirmed that Ben Affleck’s Batman would feature in Suicide Squad when the actor was spotted on set in Toronto last summer. In fact, Batman makes an appearance in the trailer for Suicide Squad, as the clip showed him on top of a car being driven manically around by Jared Leto’s Joker.
It’s rather unlikely that this will be the only time that Batman features in the film. Warner Bros. are likely to insist that every scene featuring Ben Affleck is used in Suicide Squad considering just how positive the response to his version of the character in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice was.
It’s not known if Ben Affleck was involved in any of the reshoots for Suicide Squad, which started just after Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice hit cinemas.
According to reports, via Screen Rant, the reshoots for Suicide Squad will try and make the tone of the film similar to its second trailer, which was widely praised for its use of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and humorous and edgy content. This is very much the opposite to how Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice was received, with Zack Snyder’s blockbuster being lambasted, especially by die-hard fans of Superman, for just how morbid and dark it was.
Now Jai Courtney, who will play Boomerang in Suicide Squad, has explained to Entertainment Tonight exactly why the reshoots had been ordered, insisting that rather than specifically adding comedy they will also increase the action, too.

“I think there’s plenty of that in it,” Jai Courtney explained when asked whether the reshoots would add more humor. “I wouldn’t say we’re going back to make it funnier. There’s some additional action stuff that we’ve been doing, which is pretty dope. Really, we’re just kind of adding in that sense.”
However, Brett Schulte, whose Twitter handle describes him as a “Tech guy working in Hollywood,” took to the social media website to insist that not only are the reshoots going to take three weeks, but that Warner Bros. requested them to make Suicide Squad lighter.
@BatmanNewsCom talking to people on set today they said the studio “made him do reshoots” because it was too dark. Interesting words.

There’s a lot riding on Suicide Squad now, following the poor response to Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice when it was released last month. Warner Bros. has already made some slight adjustments to its DC Universe by moving Wonder Woman’s release forward to the summer of 2017. But if Suicide Squad’s reaction is poor, then they might have to change their plans completely.
