Amazon is now offering the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S III for the very low cost of $120. The handset was made available on Sunday through the Amazon Wireless portal for buyers willing to sign a two-year contract with the carrier, a plan that includes both voice and data options.
Amazon is also selling the Samsung Galaxy S III off-contract for a much steeper $700.
$120 buys a high-tech smartphone with both 3G and 4G LTE connectivity along with Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC (mobile payment). The device also features a Super AMOLED display with 4.8-inches realty space powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. The smartphone also includes 2GB RAM and the Google Android 4.1 mobile OS.
With more than 10 million Samsung Galaxy S III devices at $199 it’s likely Amazon and Sprint Wireless will find quite a few new customers during the current price drop.
To put the devices price points in comparison it started out at $800 (unlocked/international version) and $199 on a contract.
The current version for sale is the 16GB option while the Sprint Wireless 32GB version can be snagged from the Sprint website for just $249.99 with a two year contract that includes voice, text and data plans.
