Stella McCartney Unveils Madonna’s Daughter As Latest Muse For Fragrance Campaign
Stella McCartney will release her first new fragrance in four years on April 7, and last week she steadily unveiled the faces of her Pop perfume campaign, saving the fourth and most unexpected face for last, Lourdes “Lola” Leon, the eldest daughter of Madonna. She joins Canadian singer Grimes, model and animal activist Kenya Kinski-Jones, and singer/actress Amandla Stenberg as Stella’s new girl power gang.
In the first image released for the campaign, Lourdes’ lavender locks “complement the magenta shades of the Pop bottle and the pastel pink backdrop,” per Vogue. She also reveals her knuckle tattoos, a dedication to her mom.

19-year-old Lourdes, who is currently a musical theater student at the University of Michigan, has spent her life having limited contact with the media, opting to work behind the scenes with her famous mother on their Material Girl line. Teen Vogue notes that the campaign marks her first foray in front of the fashion photographer’s camera. “I have a lot of people judging my every move,” she says on why she has avoided the spotlight until now. “It’s important for me to not let it rule my life.”
“I go through this struggle myself, [where] women’s bodies have been made so public that everyone feels like they need to comment,” says Leon. “I love when someone doesn’t pretend to be someone they are not.”
Stella is a longtime friend of Madonna, so casting Lola in her inspiring campaign makes the perfect fit for the teen who has grown up knowing McCartney her entire life. In a post on her Instagram account, the English designer expressed her excitement about their collaboration.
So happy to have Lola on the POP team! Lola, who I’ve known her entire life, is at the beginning of her career as a performance artist. She’s an independent, inspirational and free-spirited young woman. Despite being born in the spotlight, she has kept her feet firmly on the ground!
Stella is the daughter of former Beatles member Paul McCartney and artist/animal rights activist Linda McCartney. In 2003, she launched her first perfume, Stella. In January 2007, McCartney launched a 100 percent organic skincare line called CARE. The following year, she launched a new lingerie line, and in 2010, the Stella McCartney Kids collection was launched. The Pop fragrance campaign showcases a diversity of young women who will help McCartney promote the message love and self acceptance.
Together as one – these strong women are a force to be reckoned with!

“She’s the real deal,” McCartney said of Grimes on Instagram. “She refuses to compromise on anything ethically or artistically.” Grimes also announced the project on her account, “Excited 2 announce that I am collaborating w my fave vegan.”
She also enthused about Amandlam, posting: “@AmandlaStenberg is the latest force to join the POP girl gang! An extraordinary talent and actress, Amandla is a great young girl who has a lot to say and I love that. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, which makes her an inspirational role model for girls all across the world. X Stella #POPNOW”
Kenya Kinski-Jones is the daughter of iconic music producer Quincy Jones, who has been friends with Stella since before Kenya was born.
“I look up to her so much,” she says of the chance to work with McCartney. “She’s very close with members of my family—my dad is always affectionate when he speaks about her.”
Stella McCartney’s Pop retails from $50, and will be available at Sephora and sephora.com starting April 7.
