‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Abigail To Have Breakdown, End Up In Mental Hospital?

Days of Our Lives spoilers are heating up once again. Fans of the NBC soap have been wondering exactly what is going to happen to the fan favorite character of Abigail Deveraux as actress Kate Mansi has left the show, but it seems that there is much more drama ahead for Abby.

According to Heat, Days of Our Lives viewers are about to get a huge storyline with Abigail. As fans know, Abby has a lot on her plate right now. She’s a new mother who is planning a wedding to her fiancé, Chad DiMera, and living in the DiMera mansion, which she’s not totally on board with. However, the biggest worry in Abby’s life at the moment is the fact that her ex-boyfriend, Ben Weston, has escaped from the mental hospital where he was being held prison after confessing to the the murders of many Salem residents such as Serena Mason, Paige Larson, and Will Horton.

All of the stress is starting to get to Abigail, as Days of Our Lives fans have already seen her starting to crack a bit and with her wedding to Chad right around the corner, it seems likely that Ben Weston will show his face again, probably at the actual wedding, to ruin Abby’s day. Of course Ben will be wanting to see Abigail’s son, Thomas, whom he still believes to be his own child when it was discovered that Chad was the father not long after Ben was arrested.

The site claims that Abigail will have a mental breakdown and probably have to go a mental institution herself to receive help. The storyline makes a lot of sense, since Abby is under a lot of pressure, and she has a family history of mental illness.

As many Days of Our Lives viewers will remember, Abigail’s grandmother, Laura Horton, has battled with mental illness off and on. Although Jennifer’s mother, Laura, hasn’t been seen on the soap in quite some time, we’re hoping that DOOL writers will remind newer viewers just how bad things got for Laura and why it’s possible that Abby could also have a mental breakdown or illness.

Meanwhile, as Kate Mansi’s final air date draws nearer, Days of Our Lives is still on the hunt for a new actress to replace her in the role of Abigail Deveraux. Multiple casting calls have gone out looking for the right young lady to take over for the popular actress, Mansi, with the right look and attitude. If the show can’t find a replacement in time, there could be a chance that fans will not be seeing Abby for a while as she could end up staying in the mental hospital for an extended period of time and possibly re-emerge with a new actress in the role.

Soap Digest confirmed the news of Kate Mansi’s recasting, and revealed the casting call earlier this week. Days of Our Lives describes Abigail as “She comes from a loving home, despite her father lack of consistency in her life. Abigail looks innocent and young but can often seems more mature in essence than her 26 years because of the difficulties she’s experienced. She’s made plenty of mistakes in her life, but she tries to learn from them and has compassion for others. She’s fiercely loyal and protective of her family, and she has a spark and youthful joy that endears her to everyone she meets.”

Days of Our Lives fans are excited about the Kate Mansi recast because they love the character of Abigail. However, if the new actress is sub par, then fans will be sure to let the show know they don’t like the direction the character is headed.
