Calvin Harris Met Taylor Swift When He Was Dating Aarika Wolf
Calvin Harris celebrated his one-year anniversary with Taylor Swift this past weekend. The country-turned-pop singer revealed on Instagram that they actually started dating on March 6, 2015, causing some to wonder if the DJ was already in a relationship when he met her.
Long before Taylor Swift, 26, and Calvin Harris, 32, gave fans relationship #goals on social media, the couple were introduced backstage at the 2015 Elle Style Awards on Feb. 24, 2015. Back in February of this year, there was photographic evidence of the two musicians meeting thanks to Instagram user max.will.makes.music. He shared a photo of Swift checking out Harris, along with Ellie Goulding, who revealed to The Sun that she introduced the stars to each other at the event.
He wrote in the caption, “#tbt Last February’s #ellestyleawards when I snapped @elliegoulding introducing @taylorswift to @calvinharris for the first time (with a cameo by @samsmithworld) Happy anniversary, you two kids! 2/24/15”
In the photo, Swift looks like she’s liking what she’s seeing. But, was Harris still dating model Aarika Wolf at the time? It’s likely. The couple were last spotted together on the beach in Malibu prior to the 2015 Brit Awards on Feb. 16, 2015. Swift and Harris met up at the awards show where they “really connected” and the DJ “was taken with her.” They also hung out at an after-party and continued to meet up the day after.
“Calvin and Aarika split around the time of the Brit [awards] last month. They were both into each other for a long time but it just didn’t work out and they’ll stay friends. Calvin is always really busy and is constantly travelling around to DJ gigs so he’s happy to be single for a while.”
Meanwhile, Harris’ rep told E! Online “no comment” about the shocking split. But Confidenti@l quickly learned that Harris was dating the model while he was trying to pursue the “Out of the Woods” singer. He allegedly confessed to a friend in early March that he cheated on his girlfriend with Swift before ending their relationship. Sources claim that Swift wasn’t aware that Harris was in a relationship before they started hooking up.
“Calvin and Aarika met on the set of his music video ‘Blame’ in August, and they started officially dating on October. They were full-on boyfriend/girlfriend for about six months; totally joined at the hip.”
The EDM DJ and producer wanted to wait a while before stepping out with his new girlfriend. Harris and Swift were first seen together in public on March 25 at Whole Foods, nearly two weeks after they made their relationship official March 6.
“He ended up breaking up with Aarika, and then just pretended that the Taylor Swift stuff happened after (the breakup). Aarika probably knows now that she was cheated on.”
However, another insider revealed to the Hollywood Life that there is no truth to the report stating Harris allegedly cheated on Wolf with Swift.
“Calvin and Taylor met before they hooked up, but nothing happened until he split with Aarika. His relationship with Aarika was actually over in late January, and he met up with Taylor in February at the BRIT Awards in London and was a single man.”
If Harris and Wolf were on the outs, then why they were spotted together on the beach in February? Were they keeping things friendly, or just casually hooking up at the time?
There was also that time when Harris revealed during a radio show that Swift “is the opposite of my type” and would swipe left on her Tinder profile. He said that he had a preference for brunette women. Sources also revealed to the Daily News report that Swift doesn’t even fit in with Harris’ friends or the nightclub scene. The reason why he decided to start dating her was to allegedly boost his profile.

Even if Harris didn’t cheat on Wolf, it’s still a little odd that he started dating so soon after his breakup. He should have waited a few more weeks or months before settling down with his new girl. Swift, at least, reportedly waited a whole two years after her relationship with Harry Styles to start dating again.

Calvin Harris does seem smitten with Swift, though. He took to his Snapchat account on Sunday to share a video of Swift beaming widely at the cake he made her for their anniversary. Meanwhile, Swift took to Instagram to show off the gold engraved locket he gifted her.
