Sylvester Stallone Starring In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’? Actor Pictured In Atlanta With Script
Rumors that Sylvester Stallone is going to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 have emerged after the Academy Award-nominated actor was spotted in Atlanta, the city where the sequel is shooting, carrying a script.
Obviously, that could all just be coincidental, but because of the pictures, rumors instantly started to swirl about who Sylvester Stallone might actually portray in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
One rumor is that Sylvester Stallone might actually be portraying the father of Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill, a role that the film’s writer and director James Gunn has already confirmed will be present in the Guardians of the Galaxy follow-up.

The recent casting addition of Kurt Russell to Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 led to speculation that the Hateful Eight actor would be the one portraying Peter Quill’s father. According to a source for the New York Daily News, that could still be the case, because Sylvester Stallone’s appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is believed to just be a cameo, rather than a substantial role.
The New York Daily News have also reported, courtesy of their source, that that the Creed actor was staying at the same hotel in the city where the rest of the movie’s cast is currently calling home. Shooting on Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently taking place at Pinewood Studio in Georgia.
The insider also confirmed that Sylvester Stallone got inside a car that is usually taken by Chris Pratt, who is the lead in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, a role that he is replicating from the original, which grossed $773.3 million worldwide when it was released back in the summer of 2014.
Guardians of the Galaxy was a surprising smash hit for Marvel Studios when it was released in the August of 2014. In fact, it was only beaten at the worldwide box office by Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which took in $1.1 billion and $956 million, respectively.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will see most of the cast of the original returning alongside Chris Pratt. This will include Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan.
If Sylvester Stallone actually appears in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, then it will go some way to quashing the feeling of despair that the actor felt following his Oscar loss last weekend. Stallone was the heavy favorite to pick up the Best Supporting Actor gong for his performance in Creed.
However, on Sunday, he was beaten to the gong by Mark Rylance, who claimed the Best Supporting Actor prize for his performance in Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies. After Sylvester Stallone lost out to the British actor, there were several furious responses from both Sly’s younger brother Frank Stallone and the actor Mark Rapaport.
Both individuals took to their Twitter accounts to register their disdain that Sylvester Stallone had been overlooked for the Academy Award. Frank Stallone admitted that he’d crossed the line by returning to his Twitter page to apologize to Mark Rylance for his message about his brother being overlooked.

Between now and the sequel hitting cinemas, Marvel will also release Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange, which are due out on May 6, 2016, and November 4, 2016, respectively.
After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released, it will then be followed by Spider-Man on July 7, Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017, and Black Panther on February 16, 2018.
