Sandra Bullock’s Birthday Arrives, Nearly 50 And Still On Top
Sandra Bullock is one of America’s sweethearts, and the actress made famous by 1994’s Speed, endeared to fans through countless romantic comedies and secured in Oscar winning history for her role in 20009’s The Blind Side turns 48 today.
According to IMDB.com, Bullock got her start in the 1980s and is still getting plenty of work, currently filming The Heat, a comedy where she’ll play an FBI agent taking on the Russian Mob. Her recent films include Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and Gravity, a space drama that will come out in 2013 and has her starring alongside fellow Hollywood legend George Clooney as surviving astronauts in a damaged space station.
Bullock has played the tomboy (Speed), the tough girl (Miss Congenialtiy), the obsesses businesswoman (The Proposal) and more. She’s starred alongside everyone from Sylvester Stallone to Betty White.
Along with her success on film, Stylelist.com reports that they hold Bullock in high esteem for her red carpet appearances. While she certainly has been a great dresser, they point out she’s always had the best accessory — man candy. They add that once she changed her style from denim to gowns she has “remained consistently fabulous.”
A glance at her filmography shows why she is listed in the Guinness Book of World Record as the world’s highest paid actress ($56 million).
On top of her film success, Bullock is a mom, raising adopted son Louis Bardo Bullock on her own after her divorce from Jesse James.
While she’s certainly focused on her life as a single mom, she’s still one of America’s favorite actresses. So happy birthday Sandra Bullock.
