Music News: Justin Bieber Announces ‘Company’ Is Next Single From ‘Purpose’
Justin Bieber has officially announced “Company” as his next single.
The slinky R&B mid-tempo will be the fourth release from the pop icon’s record-breaking, critically acclaimed latest album, Purpose. The song was co-written by Bieber, Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, James Abrahart, Leroy Clampitt, James Wong, Andreas Schuller, and Thomas Troelsen.
On Thursday night, the heartthrob took to Twitter to reveal the news in a simple message. “#company,” he wrote.

Just this week, the music web site Headline Planet reported “Company” was the likely follow-up to Bieber’s “Love Yourself” after multiple radio professionals were tipped by Def Jam’s promotional team last week. The site also revealed “Company” has sold 55,052 copies in the U.S. to date.
“Love Yourself” is currently No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for a second non-consecutive week after dethroning Zayn’s “Pillowtalk” following his No. 1 debut last week.
“Love Yourself” topped multiple charts around the world, including the U.K. and Australia. The track, an acoustic kiss-off to a former, seemingly casual lover, was written by Bieber and Ed Sheeran.
Online comments from radio DJs and Justin Bieber fans reveal “Company” is a firm favorite on the singer’s album. A dance video was made for the track, as part of the Parris Goebel-directed Purpose: The Movement short film.
Following the superstar’s single announcement, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement over the song and hopes for a music video. Check out a selection below.

Meanwhile, the last few days have been historic for Bieber. The singer won his first ever Grammy with Jack Ü’s Skrillex and Diplo for their collaborative chart slayer, “Where Are Ü Now,” this past weekend. The trio beat off strong contenders in a category which consisted of Flying Lotus, The Chemical Brothers, As Above and Beyond, and Galantis.
Bieber, Skrillex and Diplo also performed during the show. The mini supergroup delivered a grungy, percussive version of “Where,” after Bieber kicked off with a solo performance of “Love Yourself” on acoustic guitar.
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards took place at The Staples Center on Monday, February 15. Bieber partied at The Nice Guy hot spot in West Hollywood after the ceremony, and also the 1Oak nightclub. The Biebs ended up at The Weeknd’s birthday party in Beverly Hills. Photos of the fun surfaced online afterwards.
On the night, Justin walked the Grammys red carpet with his younger brother, Jaxon, 6, who promptly stole the spotlight. The singer has since thanked his “Where Are Ü Now” co-writers, fans, and his longtime manager, Scooter Braun, for his award.
