Zsa Zsa Gabor Dead? 99-Year-Old Rushed To Hospital After Having Difficulty Breathing

Zsa Zsa Gabor has not died, but she is currently in the hospital. According to TMZ, Gabor was rushed to an LA area hospital on Monday after she was having trouble breathing. Her husband, Frederic von Anhalt, told the site that his wife, who turned 99 over the weekend, has a lung infection caused by her feeding tube.

Doctors have agreed that Gabor will need to have surgery in order to have the tube removed. The surgery is scheduled, although it is unclear when it will occur. It is also unclear how risky the surgery is for Gabor, who is thought to be quite frail. Of course, surgery of any kind is considered dangerous for people of advanced ages.

Gabor has been in and out of the hospital fairly frequently over the years. In 2011, she had her leg amputated due to gangrene. She has been bedridden for quite some time but has somehow managed to keep herself going.

Zsa Zsa Gabor has had a tough go since a 2002 car accident left her partially paralyzed. According to the Daily Mirror, Gabor — who has been married nine times — suffered a stroke in 2005. In 2010, she underwent hip replacement surgery, but complications led to her amputation.

The public hasn’t seen Gabor in several years. In 2011, Frederic von Anhalt shared two pictures of his wife, but she has not been seen since.

In early 2015, Zsa Zsa Gabor lost her daughter, Francesca Hilton. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Hilton suffered a stroke and passed away at age 67.

“As Francesca’s publicist and one of her best friends I am shocked. We were on the phone minutes before she died. We were discussing her book she was writing and a possible deal. She had to go to the restroom. She never made it out,” said publicist Ed Lozzi.

At the time, Hilton had been forbidden to visit her ailing mother. She had been fighting with her step-dad about her mom’s care, and he told her that she was no longer welcome in his home.

Francesca had serious money problems and had been living in her car from time to time before her death.

Zsa Zsa Gabor has extreme dementia, but it is unknown if she recognized her daughter at that time. Gabor has not been able to speak for quite some time and is believed to live a very quiet, lonely life inside her private residence. It is unknown whether or not she has many visitors.

Gabor became a socialite and a sex symbol in the 1950s. She was a well-known movie actress who had plenty of one-liners that are sharp, witty, and pack quite a punch. Here are some of the best.
