Lifetime’s The Wrong Roommate Movie Synopsis
When Laurie Valentine finds out that her fiancé Mark has slept with another woman in their bedroom, she has reached her limit. Moving out seems like the only option for her after she decides that she will no longer put up with his cheating and controlling behavior. With no real place to go, she ends up staying at her sister’s home while she is on a business trip in China. The only catch is that she must take care of her 17-year old niece, Ricki.
Looking after her teenage niece doesn’t seem like a bad deal in exchange for a lavish home and a new job as a professor at the local college. Meanwhile, Laurie’s ex boyfriend Mark won’t go away and does everything in his power to see what Laurie is up to — even if it means showing up to her sister’s home unannounced.
Once Laurie settles in, she finds out that there is a handsome man named Alan that is renting the guest house on the property. An eligible bachelor with a knack for surfing and painting, Laurie and Alan strike up an immediate friendship that develops into a full-blown physical attraction.
But when strange things start happening, Laurie’s old family friend becomes suspicious of the handsome painter and decides to dig deeper into his background. What she doesn’t know is that Alan has a dark past, and his presence at the guest house is no accident. It has been orchestrated by someone very close to her.
