‘Aunt Viv’ Original Janet Hubert Takes On Nene Leakes, Jealous About ‘RHOA’ Star’s Broadway Run?

Janet Hubert has struck again. It seems the original “Aunt Viv” from The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air wasn’t done with her recent rant about Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, and the Oscars. According to Page Six, Hubert expounded on her recent Will Smith rant and then decided to change gears, blasting Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes for her recent Broadway success.

Hubert isn’t holding back when it comes to Hollywood. It looks like Nene Leakes, who likely has never done anything personal to the former Fresh Prince actress, struck a nerve with her recent Broadway success. Leakes just ended a Broadway run for Cinderella. The RHOA star must have done well too because she’s set to return and some more time performing on Broadway in the upcoming Chicago.

Janet Hubert is definitely hating on Nene Leakes, whom she blasted for making it big on Broadway first. “Did you know NeNe Leakes made it on Broadway before Janet Hubert? Something’s wrong with the whole system of bad behavior being rewarded,” Hubert said. “I think in the black community, ratchet has became the new black, ghetto has become the new black.”

Nene isn’t the first member of the RHOA cast to have a less than stellar experience with Janet Hubert either. The self-proclaimed “blacktress” blasted Kenya Moore last year after the failure of her spinoff Life Twirls On. Hubert claimed that Kanye never paid her for her appearance on the pilot episode of the show, sparking quite a feud with the often-hated reality star.

After Janet Hubert not only claimed Kenya Moore and her team failed to pay her, Hubert also said that she was pursuing criminal charges against those who didn’t cut her a check. It didn’t take long for Moore to respond, claiming that Janet was actually paid four different times for her work. Kenya also said that executives connected with Life Twirls On confirmed that Hubert was not owed any further money and no one really understood why she was making claims that she was stiffed for her work.

The best part of Janet Hubert’s entire social media spat with Kenya Moore was the RHOA star’s sign off. Making it clear that she would no longer be working with Hubert ever again, Kenya wrote in an Instagram post, “however, we echo the sentiment of the producers of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and wish Miss Hubert well in her future endeavors.”

This was definitely meant to remind Hubert and those following the feud that the original “Aunt Viv” from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air has a reputation of being hard to work with. Fans of the classic hit probably remember when the original Aunt Viv played by Janet Huber was replaced by Daphne Reid as if she had played the role the whole time.

After Jada Pinkett Smith started speaking out about the 2016 Academy Awards and the blatant lack of diversity among Oscar nominees, Hubert decided to speak her mind as well. During a huge tirade about how fake Jada is and how Will Smith was instrumental in ruining her career, Hubert took a huge shot at Nene Leakes as well. It’s unclear why she felt the needs to take shots at Nene unless it was just a huge case of jealousy.

Leakes isn’t known for being demure, but the RHOA star does have a growing Hollywood resume and now she is a Broadway success too. Hubert, a Julliard-trained actress, seems jealous of Nene Leakes, who obviously isn’t as refined. Unfortunately for Hubert, each time she speaks out about someone or something she doesn’t like, it only makes her reputation as being hard to work with seem even more plausible. So far Nene Leakes hasn’t commented on “Aunt Viv’s” diss. She’s presumably too busy filming Real Housewives of Atlanta and preparing for another Broadway show.
