Ian Somerhalder And Nina Dobrev Talking Again, Former ‘Vampire Diaries’ Stars Ready To Reconcile?

Despite rumors to the contrary, it appears as though things between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are better now than in recent years. In fact, the two are once again on talking terms, igniting some hope that the Vampire Diaries stars might be set to reconcile in the near future.

According to Morning Ledger, Dobrev and Somerhalder met and talked during the 2016 Golden Globes. While the details of their conversation are unknown at this time, the two appeared to be more than amicable during their brief meet up. For his part, Somerhalder was joined by his wife, Nikki Reed, at the event.

Reed and Somerhalder appeared very happy together as they made their way down the red carpet at the Globes. In contrast, Dobrev was all alone during the award ceremony, with her new boyfriend Austin Stowell nowhere in sight.

The meeting at the Golden Globes follows rumors that indicated things were not going well between Somerhalder and Reed. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Somerhalder is desperately wanting to have children and start a family of his own, which Reed is not willing to do just yet.

If Reed does not want to start having kids, will her marriage with Somerhalder be in jeopardy? Is it possible that Somerhalder will attempt to get back with Dobrev if things with Reed do not work out?

At this point, only time will tell what becomes of Somerhalder’s relationship with the Sleepy Hollow star. In the meantime, Movie News Guide is reporting that Somerhalder’s marriage may be facing an end sooner rather than later.

Apparently, Somerhalder’s need to have children is putting a lot of strain on the couple’s relationship. With Reed’s career in television starting to take off, she is reportedly not ready to start a family, which Somerhalder is having difficulty coming to terms with.

After all, Somerhalder and Dobrev reportedly ended their relationship over the same issue, with Dobrev not wanting to start a family in the prime of her acting career. Is Somerhalder’s marriage with Reed doomed to the same fate?

Even if things don’t work out between Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, it still isn’t clear if he will seek to reconcile with Dobrev. Given their past failings, it doesn’t seem likely that Somerhalder will ever get back with Dobrev unless the timing is just right and Somerhalder’s need to start a family is met.

At the same time, Somerhalder’s recent appearance with Reed at the Golden Globes appears to have dampened rumors of a pending divorce. Even more, a source told Kpopstarz that Dobrev and Stowell recently celebrated her birthday and appeared to be more than happy together.

“Nina and her boyfriend were super cute,” the source revealed. “They were snapping pics on their phone and in the photo booth. They seem super happy together, and they have a really genuine connection.”

With both Dobrev and Somerhalder appearing to be happy in their relationships, a future reconciliation seems unlikely. For now, perhaps fans can hold out hope that the two will someday get back together on screen if nothing else.

Dobrev departed The Vampire Diaries after last season. Somerhalder and the rest of the cast have continued the series despite the exit of one of the show’s main characters. With the show managing to retool its storyline and venture into new directions, fans are eagerly waiting for Dobrev to make a cameo at some point.

Whether or not Dobrev ever makes her way back to the show is yet to be seen. In the meantime, fans can watch Somerhalder when The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW later this year.
