Mariah Carey Ordered Around By Packer? Troubles With Her Billionaire Boyfriend?
Mariah Carey appeared to seamlessly adjust to being apart from her ex-husband Nick Cannon after their very public split in late 2014. The couple share two children, whom they have agreed to raise jointly and amicably. Onlookers doubted Carey’s strength and figured that the singer would have a breakdown reminiscent of her Glitter days. This, however, never happened.
The diva found herself immersed in a number of fantastic opportunities, including a Vegas residency and her first shot at directing. Additionally, Carey’s love life was given a bit of resuscitation thanks to billionaire James Packer swooping into the superstar’s days.
The couple began dating in early 2015 and have been enjoying life in the lap of luxury together ever since. Packer and Carey have jetted off on globetrotting adventures, shared red carpet appearances, and spent the holidays with one another. Heading into this new year, however, rumors have been swirling that Packer is placing unwelcome demands on the diva, and Mimi is not taking it too well.
As Gossip Cop relays, a rumor has been ignited by the unreliable source the National Enquirer that James Packer has been demanding that Mariah stop feuding with her ex, Nick Cannon, over financial matters. The celebrity gossip policing site reminds of the shared story by the tabloid.
“According to the National Enquirer, Packer won’t marry Carey until she and Cannon stop feuding over money. A so-called insider tells the tabloid the singer has been ‘playing hardball over money and custody issues,’ but Packer is ‘fed up with the endless bickering between Mariah and Nick.’ The magazine’s alleged source claims he warned Carey that her and Cannon’s twins Moroccan and Monroe will ‘wind up the victims if Mariah and Nick drag out the haggling.'”
This claim about Carey and Cannon having a tumultuous relationship comes shortly after Cannon expressed how well the two get on. The Inquisitr shared as to the TV host’s attitude toward Mimi’s new relationship back in December. It seems entirely contradictory to what Nick shared about his diva-ex back at holiday time.
The same “source” quoted by the tabloid also insists that Packer has already proposed to Mariah, stating that the billionaire put a ring on the songstress while they enjoyed time at the holidays. The source also claims that this was a strategy for Packer to cause Carey to stop fighting with Cannon by leaving her with an ultimatum.
“Carey ‘immediately said yes,’ but the alleged engagement was James’ way of putting a fire under Mariah’s butt to finalize things with Nick.” The same alleged insider notes Packer dangling a marriage carrot in front of Carey helped change her attitude because she ‘adores James and won’t do anything to jeopardize this relationship.'”
Gossip Cop has laid this rumor to rest by verifying with Carey’s reps that she and Cannon have always been on great terms and are not feuding over anything, especially not finances. Additionally, the site also notes that Carey and Packer are not engaged at this point, especially not by way of an ultimatum. Packer has been nothing but adoring of Carey over the months they have shared together.
“Not surprisingly, the entire National Enquirer story is false. Not only are Packer and Carey not even engaged at this point, despite the tabloid’s made-up claim, but she and Cannon have been cordial and cooperative ever since they announced they were divorcing.”
A reliable source close to Carey also insists that Cannon and Carey are “totally cool” with no tensions or feuds. It’s clear that Mariah and Nick have the best interest of their little ones in mind. The superstar has also found herself a fantastic new romance with a man who is patient and not pushy as tabloids have attempted to make him out to be.
