Brie Larson’s Golden Globes Buzz: Pep Talks With Emma Stone And Chocolate Trophies
Brie Larson is making her mark on the Golden Globes 2016 red carpet. The actress usually sticks to a minimalist or vintage look at red carpet events, but she wowed the crowd in a sparkling gown on Sunday night.
Brie Larson, 26, wore a custom-made gold beaded halter gown by Calvin Klein as she attended the award show at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She spoke to Ryan Seacrest about her heavy gown choice. “I feel very protected, like I have Joan of Arc armor on,” she joked.
The actress kept her hair simple and sleek with a straight style and a mid-part. She also kept her accessories and jewelry minimal, while she opted for bronze makeup. Brie is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Room, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie is up for three awards, including Best Screenplay.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton says that Brie Larson looked very much like one of the many Golden Globes statuettes that will be handed out tonight. She also busted out her own golden globes, which looked amazing in the sparkling gown. Larson’s dress also featured cut-outs on the sides, which showed off her amazing abs.
During her interview with Ryan Seacrest on E!’s red carpet, Brie Larson revealed that she got a pep talk from her friend Emma Stone in preparation for her first Golden Globes event. No biggie.
“I’m like completely OK. I spoke with Emma Stone before and she gave me a pep talk. I was like, ‘I don’t know what to expect,’ and she was like, ‘you’re going to have the best time, you’re inside the TV.’ So I keep sitting here thinking I’m totally inside the TV right now.”
Another way that Brie prepared for tonight’s award show is by eating chocolate. She took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with a chocolate Golden Globe statue. Brie captioned the photo: “Chillin’ with a chocolate Golden Globe. LET’S PARTY.” Even if she doesn’t win the actual award tonight, she already wins with her delicious trophy.
That’s not the only way that Larson revealed about how she’s preparing for the award show. Earlier this week, she shared a throwback photo of herself dressed up in a ridiculous cat costume. The caption read: “#tbt to when all I listened to was the Cats the Musical soundtrack while writing my first feature screenplay. Yes, I am wearing this to the golden globes – thanks for asking!”
But fans have been wondering if the Trainwreck actress will bring her long-time boyfriend Phantom Planet’s Alex Greenwald. Larson has been linked to the musician for the past two years, according to Bustle. Back in December 2013, Larson won Best Actress for her role in Short Term 12 at the IFP Gotham Awards, where she thanked her boyfriend.
“And I’d like to thank my boyfriend, Alex Greenwald, for making me pasta and taking care of our puppy while I made this movie.”
Then in June 2014, Vulture wrote a piece on Brie and her BFF Shailene Woodley where they were seen “putting plates with artfully arranged food on her dining-room table at her two-bedroom ranch-style house in Studio City in the San Fernando Valley” while her boyfriend Alex “was working on a song in the living room.”
The couple must still be together because in September 2015, Larson took to Twitter to address Greenwald’s new band Phase, in a super supportive tweet and he replied back with a sweet tweet. It’s any wonder if Greenwald will return the favor by showing his support for his girlfriend sometime tonight at the Golden Globes.
