Miranda Lambert’s Ex-Husband Blake Shelton Is Happy She’s Dating Anderson East [Report]

Miranda Lambert is moving on from her failed marriage to Blake Shelton, and according to a report, he couldn’t be happier. As Shelton enjoys his steady PDA moments with Gwen Stefani, whom he went public with in early November, Miranda Lambert has begun a new romance with Anderson East, an R&B singer from Alabama.

“Blake heard the news about [Miranda Lambert] and Anderson and is happy for her,” a insider told Hollywood Life on December 30. “He’s only ever wanted the best for her and is glad that they can both move on in 2016. He knows who Anderson is, they have met a couple of times and thinks he’s a cool guy. He doesn’t know him that well, but if he makes [Miranda Lambert] happy, then that’s all that matters.”

Miranda Lambert and Shelton parted ways in July after four years of marriage, and while she was linked to Sam Hunt for months after the split, the two never went public with any romance, which makes it seem that there never really was one. Either way, Miranda Lambert, 32, and East, 27, have reportedly been dating for about a month, according to Us Weekly.

“They are really enjoying each other’s company,” a source close to Miranda Lambert revealed in the new issue of the magazine, and the couple “are spending New Year’s together,” added another insider.

“She couldn’t have picked a better dude to have fun with,” said a friend of Miranda Lambert’s new man. “Anderson is the coolest guy.”

A short time after Us Weekly’s report, the East’s stepfather, Randall Ennis, spoke to In Touch Weekly about their new romance, confirming they had been together for a “couple of weeks.”

“Michael’s an awesome kid,” he told the magazine. “He’s got his head on straight and knows what he wants in life… He’s just an amazing kid. He’s outgoing, he just never meets a stranger. He’s very polite.”

As for his thoughts on Miranda Lambert, Ennis said, “To be honest with you, I don’t really follow country music so I really didn’t even know who she was.”

But Ennis will soon. When asked if East would soon be introducing Miranda Lambert to the family, Ennis said, “Oh I’m sure he will!”

Miranda Lambert and Shelton’s romance began in 2006, and years later, Miranda Lambert was featured singing background vocals on Shelton’s rendition of Michael Buble’s song “Home.” Then, in May 2010, Shelton proposed, and one year later, he and Miranda Lambert were married. Following news of the couple’s divorce this past July, Shelton’s now-girlfriend, Stefani, announced her own divorce after 13 years of marriage to Gavin Rossdale, the father of her three children. Then, in November, the couple revealed they were dating with a public outing in Nashville, which took place just a short time after Shelton and Miranda Lambert attended the Country Music Awards.

While Miranda Lambert’s new relationship with East has been kept private thus far, Shelton took a far different approach after news of his relationship with Stefani broke and has been spotted all over the country since letting the world know they were dating. Recently, Miranda Lambert’s ex-husband took Stefani to a store they used to frequent together, the Atwoods Ranch and Home store in Madill, Oklahoma, which is located 20 miles from his ranch, according to an Us Weekly report last week.

Miranda Lambert and East have not yet spoken out about their new romance.
