‘General Hospital’ News: Is Emma Drake Staying Or Leaving? Brooklyn Rae Silzer Also Lands New Gig
The sad farewell to Patrick Drake on General Hospital is coming up quickly. Actor Jason Thompson is exiting the role that he has held onto for a decade. While fans have wished him well on his new gig on The Young and the Restless, they are still not happy that he is leaving.
What about the rest of the Drake family, particularly his onscreen daughter Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer)? Many speculations have been going around as to whether the adorable 9-year-old will be staying on with the soap after her mom and dad leave Port Charles.
In a recent interview that Jason Thompson gave to Michael Fairman of On Air On Soaps, he gave fans the answer that they have been asking since he made the decision to take his leave. He started out by talking about how Kimberly McCullough had the freedom to return to her role as Robin Scorpio Drake on General Hospital anytime she wants. In fact, the actress has been off and on the ABC show for years now. GH has always accommodated her whenever they could to let her come back to Patrick and Emma. Then Thompson also said how Emma could also come back as well.
“I know this ending is going to take some people’s breath away, because they are losing not only Brooklyn, but Patrick, and Robin to a certain extent. But the great thing is I know they have plans to bring Brooklyn back when they can. As you can tell, Brooklyn has done an amazing job with her work this last little while. She is growing into such a fantastic actress. We built something really great.”
There had been speculations recently on whether the actress will be staying on with the soap once Thompson, and her onscreen mom, Kimberly McCullough, end up leaving Port Charles together. One post said that Emma would be staying on General Hospital without her parents. Celebrity Dirty Laundry wrote that the Drake daughter would be staying with Grandma Anna after her parents are involved in a honeymoon tragedy. It looks like that was just a rumor after all.
This news of little Emma Drake leaving General Hospital may be sad news for most fans. Actress Brooklyn Silzer has been with the show since she was quite small. She is so well-loved and has done an amazing job in her role as Emma. She will be sorely missed, along with Jason and Kimberly.

The exciting news is that Brooklyn has landed another gig, so she is not done with her acting abilities just yet. According to a recent interview with Star Kidz, she revealed that she is headed to CBS in a guest appearance role on the new spin-off of Criminal Minds called Beyond Borders. So far it looks like this is just for one episode, but you just never know what can develop in the future for this young star.
In the same interview, Brooklyn was asked if there was anyone on General Hospital that she wished she had more scenes with. This is what she had to say about that.
“That dream came true when I got to work with Kimberly again this past month — it meant so much to me to share these special scenes with her & Jason. Memories that I will treasure forever- I love them so much:)”

She is such a sweet girl, which is why everyone loves her so much. Her talent as an actress, whether it is on daytime or on a primetime drama, definitely comes alive when she is on screen.
Brooklyn Silzer’s magic with Jason Thompson and Kimberly McCullough on General Hospital will certainly be missed, but it sounds like these three actors have a great future ahead of them. Unfortunately for devoted viewers of the soap, it will mean that a few tears will be shed when the Drake family rolls off into the sunset leaving some great memories behind.
