Donald Trump Ramps Up Attack On Hillary And Bill Clinton: ‘He Has A Terrible Record of Women Abuse’

Donald Trump appears in no mood to relent as far as his attacks on Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton are concerned.

Responding to Hillary Clinton’s accusation that Trump has a “penchant for sexism,” the Republican front-runner sought to hit back at Hillary by bringing her husband and former president Bill Clinton within the ambit of his fierce attacks.

In a tweet Donald Trump sent out Monday morning, he said that Bill Clinton had a “terrible record of women abuse.”

Although Trump did not exactly mention what instances of abuse he was referring to, one may assume that he was pointing fingers at Clinton’s defining role in the Lewinsky scandal, which saw him impeached before a grand jury before being acquitted by the U.S. Senate in 1998. Trump later also added that attacking Bill Clinton was “fair-game” since he is about to hit the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton come January 2016, according to NBC News.

Earlier, Hillary had said that Trump had a “penchant for sexism” after his repeated attacks on women — and against her in particular — culminated in eliciting a strong response from the Clinton camp during an interview with the Des Moines Register last week.

“I think he has to answer for what he says, and I assume that others will make the larger point about his language. It’s not the first time he’s demonstrated a penchant for sexism,” Hillary had said of Trump’s attacks.

But it did not take long for Donald Trump to co-opt her words and instead attack her husband Bill Clinton for his “history of abuse” during his time as the President of the United States.

That was not all. During an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, Trump expressed disbelief at the way Bill Clinton had managed to get away after taking “advantage of an intern” in his office, blaming the media for having made it easy for him.

“I think really the media seems to have given President Clinton a pass on this,” he said. “He took advantage of a girl that was 20 years old and an intern in his office. There is no excuse for that.”

Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton have both come under attack by Donald Trump.

The Clinton camp was quick to respond to Donald Trump’s comments, with spokeswoman Christina Reynolds saying in a statement that Trump’s language was “demeaning” for women everywhere, before adding that Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton won’t be intimidated or “bullied” by Trump’s attacks on her husband Bill Clinton.

“Though Donald Trump has pushed around nearly all of his fellow Republicans, Hillary Clinton won’t be bullied or distracted by attacks he throws at her and former President Clinton. But when his insults are directed at women, immigrants, Asian-Americans, Muslims, the disabled, or hard working Americans looking to raise their wages – Hillary Clinton will stand up to him, as she has from the beginning. Donald Trump’s words are demeaning, his policies are just as destructive. “

It is likely that Donald Trump’s attacks on Hillary Clinton will not abate now with Bill Clinton also thrown into the campaign mix, and one could expect the war of words between the two front-runners to get more acrimonious — and perhaps more personal — as we approach the National Conventions of the two parties to be held in July next year.
