David O. Russell’s ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ Trailer Debuts
Silver Linings Playbook the newest offering from Three Kings and The Fighter director David O. Russell is preparing to reach a theater near you and today the movies first official trailer debuted.
Due out in November 2012 the movie stars Bradley Cooper, Julia Stiles, Robert De Niro and Jennifer Lawrence and was adapted from the novel of the same name by author Matthew Quick.
Here’s a quick synopsis of the film from Collider:
“After spending four years in a mental institution, a former teacher (Bradley Cooper) moves back in with his mother and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. However, he strikes up a relationship with a neighbor (Jennifer Lawrence) who’s also mental problems. I really like what I’m seeing from the cast, especially Cooper and Lawrence. The trailer does make the film look a little sacchrine, but Russell has never skewed towards the mawkish, so I’m going to assume the heavy-handed feel-good stuff is designed to make the film appeal to a larger audience.”
The movies adapted screenplay was also written by David O. Russell and was produced by The Weinstein Company.
Russell has been busy lately, he is also still in pre-production for “American Bullshit” and post-production for “Nailed” two movies which do not yet have release dates.
