Eileen Davidson And Husband Vincent Van Patten: Marriage Drama On ‘RHOBH’ Season 6, But No Divorce!
Is Eileen Davidson’s marriage in jeopardy? During a sneak peek at the December 22 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Eileen Davidson and her husband, Vincent Van Patten, are seen sitting down for lunch as they discuss a timing issue.
“I can’t look at the clock and go, ‘It’s almost nine, now I can get mad at him.’ I mean, I can’t do that,” Eileen Davidson explains, likely in regard to one of her sons.
Then, in response, Van Patten tells Eileen Davidson, “Because you are an idiot.”
Right away, Eileen Davidson appears to be caught off-guard, and who can blame her? However, despite Van Patten’s odd comment, Eileen Davidson recently claimed she and Van Patten are just fine. In fact, she says The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has actually been beneficial to her marriage, and made her relationship with Van Patten stronger. Although a separate preview clip of the sixth season also seems hint at marital troubles, Eileen Davidson spoke to OK! Magazine weeks ago, confirming her and Van Patten’s marriage was very much intact.

“Actually that is just a teaser because there is nothing going on in our marriage frankly,” Eileen Davidson told the magazine, according to a report by Radar Online. “We always were and we are [doing fine] right now, yes.”
“I told Lisa Rinna just a couple months ago: The show is actually really good for my marriage because I appreciate him so much going through all these ups and downs with the ladies. In our instance, it’s making our marriage stronger.”
As for why Eileen Davidson seemed to be at odds with Van Patten on the show, she noted editing as the culprit.
“I guess you can misconstrue it because it doesn’t really say anything, does it?” she said. “It just has me crying about something, and then it has him saying, ‘You were attacking me.’ But you will just have to look at it to really understand what context it’s in.”
Before the season began, a report spoke of a possible divorce between Eileen Davidson and Patten.
“It appears that some of the show’s biggest highlights will surround Davidson and her husband drama,” Soap Shows reported in November, prior to the premiere of the sixth season. “Has her marriage become so fragile that the once-happy couple may not make it through another season of cameras following their every move?”

Eileen Davidson agreed to appear in a full-time role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last year, ahead of season 5, and has continued with her full-time role ever since. Eileen Davidson’s addition, which occurred at the same time Lisa Rinna joined the reality show, took place after the exits of Carlton Gebbia and Joyce Giraud. Meanwhile, a couple of other casting changes took place ahead of season 6.
As fans have seen during the early episodes of the sixth season, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills no longer includes Kim Richards and Brandi Glanville in full-time roles. Instead, the series has welcomed two new housewives, Erika Girardi and Kathryn Eickstaedt Edwards, both of whom have ties to the cast. That said, Richards and Glanville will be seen in guest roles later in the season.
