Norman Reedus Gets Bitten By Fan Who ‘Lost Her Mind’ At Convention

Any actor who stars in a television show centered around zombies would hope to be safe from unexpected biting attacks once the cameras go off. But Walking Dead star Norman Reedus did not have that luxury at a recent zombie convention, where he was bitten by a fan who claims to have lost her mind in the excitement of the moment.

According to Undead Walking, the fan was taking a photo with Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker at the “Walker Stalker Convention” in New Jersey — a privilege she paid a pretty penny for. While she had a minute with Norman Reedus, she decided to tell him that she likes to pretend he and she are husband and wife. Perhaps that story should have been a red flag for the actors, because the Walking Dead super fan was so thrilled to be in the presence of Norman Reedus that she lost control of herself and stooped to the level of the undead.

She bit Reedus right on the chest.

Security personnel rushed in and restrained the woman. She seemingly was unaware of what she had done, because security had to explain, “Ma’am, you just bit Norman Reedus.”

Michael Rooker was equally as shocked by the bite and reportedly said, “What the f*** was that?!”

However, according to People magazine, Norman Reedus was pretty laid back about the incident. He declined to press charges because he wasn’t injured and didn’t require any medical attention. The bite didn’t break the skin and Reedus was able to continue the photo ops with other fans immediately following the attack.

The fan was banned from any future “Walker Stalker” conventions or any public events where Norman Reedus is present. She also had two more photo opportunities with Norman Reedus revoked by the event organizers, totaling a loss of $200.

She posted a photo to Instagram of the picture she got with Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker right before she sank her teeth in. She was very apologetic in the caption but seemingly had no good explanation for what made her decide to bite Reedus in the chest.

“Finally got to meet the love of my life, and get banned from the rest of CON and lose two more $100 photo ops with him because I lost my mind. Got so excited standing beside him… & just turned my head and bit him! I don’t know what came over me. It wasn’t my intention to hurt him. I’m sorry Norman!”

Norman Reedus also addressed the biting incident on Instagram, but played it off with a sense of humor. He uploaded a picture of himself with the words “DO NOT BITE ME” edited onto his shirt and with the caption, “Um please don’t 💃🏿.”

Norman Reedus has a reputation for being very friendly and easy-going during meet-and-greet events like this one. He’s often happy to participate in strange poses with fans and isn’t afraid to let them touch him or to touch them himself. He has even reportedly licked fans on the face before. But getting bitten may cause Norman Reedus to take a few cautious steps back next time he shows up at a convention.
