Fan Theory Debunked: No, Jar Jar Binks Is Not A Sith Lord
The latest Star Wars fan theory revolves around the universe’s clumsiest Gungan being a powerful source on the dark side, but it was recently revealed that no, Jar Jar Binks is not a Sith Lord. In fact, Mr. Binks won’t be much of anything anymore, as it was revealed this week that he will not be in Star Wars: Force Awakens.

There’s a high volume of followers of the belief that Jar Jar Binks is actually evil. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams stated as follows.
“There was this unbelievably lengthy analysis, in a very seriously thought-out way, as to why it’s obviously true that he is [evil]. That to me is remarkable.”
The analysis included a lengthy video detailing Binks’ apparent involvement with the dark side of the Force. “Here it is. This is the completely airtight, absolutely foolproof case for why Jar Jar Binks is the most powerful Sith Lord in the universe.” See the video detailing Jar Jar Binks’s “dark side” below.
The video points out things such as Jar Jar’s circle flip just after we meet him, his clumsiness and ability to harm when in danger, and his convincing time as a senator. The speaker uses these details to convince the audience that each of these actions is actually in direct connection with the dark side of the Force.
Despite the architect’s claims that it is “completely airtight,” there are actually several obvious holes in his theory. Even though the directors and writers of the Star Wars franchise have been claiming that the theory is completely bogus, the chatter went on.
Both fans of the theory and those who think it’s ridiculous have shared their views on Twitter.
This fan theory of Jar Jar Binks pretending to be a comedy fool and secretly being a Sith Lord is also the story of Donald Trump

I watched a video about how Jar Jar Binks is actually a Sith Lord and now my world is irrevocably changed

My dying wish is to hear George Lucas tell me himself that Jar Jar Binks is the ultimate Sith Lord of the Star Wars universe.

Finally, this theory has been stonewalled, since it was officially announced that Jar Jar Binks “is definitely not in the movie” Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In other words, there will be no room for this theory to develop, since he’s no longer in existence.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, since J.J. Abrams has expressed his profound dislike for the character. He even expressed that he considered killing him off in the new film to be done with him. Instead, he’ll let the character be slowly forgotten.
Not surprisingly, fans didn’t react to this news nearly as effusely as they reacted to the fan theory, but the news was received fairly positively.
To nobody's surprise, Jar-Jar Binks won't appear in The Force Awakens https://t.co/z40sNRC1VO

It was also revealed that the ewoks won’t have a role in the new films, as well.
There’s no denying the the Sith Lord theory is interesting and compelling. It wouldn’t be surprising if it came from the mouth of George Lucas, himself, who thoroughly appreciated Jar Jar Binks. It’s entertaining, to say the least, but J.J. Abrams has confirmed that this theory is unfounded. No, Jar Jar Binks is not the most masterful Sith Lord in existence. Sorry folks.
