Yolanda Foster & David Foster Split Linked To Lyme Disease: ‘Real Housewives’ Kyle Richards Dissects Divorce
Yolanda Foster and David Foster are splitting, and the news sent shock waves through celebrity marriage watchers. But an insider told People that the Lyme disease that Yolanda has been battling is at least partly to blame for the Fosters’ divorce after just four years of marriage.
As Yolanda became increasingly ill, she and David reportedly grew further and further apart. The insider says that the separation began soon after Foster was diagnosed with the condition.
“Things really changed in their relationship as Yolanda got sick, and then when her health worsened,” the source revealed to People. “David travels all the time and they simply weren’t spending any time together.”
In 2011, the Fosters tied the knot at an elaborate wedding. But just a year later, Yolanda received her diagnosis, beginning the stress that allegedly caused them to eventually divorce.
“They just grew apart and the intense stress over her health and the disease was very hard on their marriage,” clarified the insider.
The official announcement from the couple recalled the nine years that they had shared, but referring only to “challenges” rather than elaborating on Yolanda’s specific ailment.
“Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways. We’ve shared nine beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues,” said David and Yolanda in their official statement to People.
The reference to blended families stems from the fact that David has five daughters and has been wed four times, while Yolanda’s three offspring from her first marriage to Mohamed Hadid include 16-year-old Anwar, 19-year-old Bella, and 20-year-old Gigi.
As for how Yolanda’s Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills co-stars such as Kyle Richards feel about the situation, Kyle has her own theory. Richards also believes that Yolanda’s Lyme disease struggle is related to the Fosters’ divorce, reported Radar Online.
Richards had no hesitations when it came to dishing out her views about the couple and her co-star’s health problems. During an interview with Andy Cohen for Watch What Happens Live, Kyle admitted that most of the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills co-stars were surprised at the news.
“Very sad. In some ways, yes [it was a surprise]. I mean, we didn’t know,” shared the 46-year-old reality TV star. “But I think that they’ve been struggling, and Yolanda’s been so sick — I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, I have no idea, but it was just really sad.”
The announcement from Yolanda and David that they were divorcing occurred on the day of the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills premiere. The episode revealed the problems that the couple were having in their marriage, but did not serve as the vehicle for breaking the news of the Fosters’ divorce.
Although Kyle termed it “really sad” when referring to the divorce, some of the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills cast members have been negative in their comments about Yolanda. And despite admitting that she was aware Yolanda was “so sick,” Richards slammed the treatments that Foster endured.
“Cockamamie [and] dramatic!” attacked Kyle.
As to why Richards and other RHOBH cast members have criticized Yolanda about her health, Kyle explained.
“I think a lot of it has to do with questioning the types of treatments and the lengths she was going to,” Richards clarified. “She was going off to Korea and Germany and Mexico and all these cockamamie treatments.”
In addition, Richards questioned the drama of the social media posts by Foster.
“I think [the other RHOBH ladies] were kind of taken aback by her dramatic posts on Instagram, which is what sparked all that stuff,” said Kyle.
