Tim Tebow And Girlfriend Olivia Culpo Split Over Christian Abstinence? NFL Quarterback Mocked For Not Being Josh Duggar
Tim Tebow’s girlfriend, Olivia Culpo, has supposedly dumped the NFL quarterback for his Christian abstinence beliefs. Already, many have mocked Tebow for not wanting to have sex with a former Miss Universe and Miss USA, but others point out that we should be praising Tebow when the news is filled with stories like Josh Duggar and NFL domestic abuse.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, Tony Romo’s injury has already started talk about Tebow going to the Dallas Cowboys.
Several days ago, Tim Tebow’s girlfriend sent out this cryptic tweet on Twitter that seemed to indicate something was wrong in her personal life.
“Being rejected from something good just means you were being pointed toward something better,” Culpo said.
She never bothered explaining to all her Twitter followers what she meant by this comment, but an anonymous source who is friends with Culpo claims that Tim Tebow and Olivia Culpo broke up recently.
“He was really into her, he was sending her love letters and cute notes and professing his love for her,” the source claimed. “She had to break up with him because she just couldn’t handle it. He still hits her up, but she just can’t deal with the sex thing. He’s pretty adamant about it, I guess.”
To a certain extent, the writing was almost on the wall, since the pair did not seem an ideal match-up from the start. As an example, Tebow probably frowns upon pornography and nude modeling, yet Treats magazine featured Olivia Culpo nude just months before they started dating. The reasons Culpo gave for doing the nude photo shoot was not exactly something you would expect to hear out of the mouth of a Christian girlfriend.
“I really enjoyed putting myself out there,” Culpo said, according to E! Online. “It is very liberating to show who you really are. There is a sense of empowerment that I got from the shoot that is hard to explain.”
Tebow did not exactly win applause for being able to exercise self control. Instead, sexual puns suggested that Tebow “still can’t find the end zone” and is “having trouble scoring.” Articles about the rumored breakup emphasized the expectation that abstinence should be tossed out the window when confronted with a gorgeous woman by including bikini photos of Culpo.
Not everyone is mocking Tebow’s vow of abstinence. Instead, some are highlighting how Tebow is walking the walk in regards to his stated Christian beliefs.“To be honest, I think it is very commendable of Tim Tebow,” wrote Marly Jones on Facebook. “I think his decision to wait until marriage is something that shows that his beliefs are important and he is living his life accordingly. We all preach love and respect, just wonder how many people will prove it instead of bashing him. Would we be willing to give him a high five for not sleeping with a supermodel as we would for someone who did? I doubt it. Anyway, I think it is awesome that you remain faithful to your beliefs Tim.”
Even some atheist bloggers on Patheos are stepping up to the plate to defend Tebow in this case.
“[Tebow’s] commitment to his convictions is admirable,” wrote Tracey Moody. “It’s almost expected these days (Josh Duggar) that those who flaunt religious morality (Josh Duggar) fall guilty to the hypocrisy test (Duggar Duggar). In the case of Tebow, he’s clearly walking the walk. Best of luck to him on his quest to find a woman who mirrors his life choices.”
In the end, it’s probably best that this particular relationship ended early. In fact, if you go by Tebow’s Twitter account he was celebrating during this time frame.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever! Psalm 118
