Khloe Kardashian Hosts Family Thanksgiving Dinner Despite Staph Infection: Can Lamar Odom & Caitlyn Jenner Attend?
Khloe Kardashian gradually is recovering from the staph infection that forced the busy reality TV star to take a break from her stressful schedule of caring for estranged husband Lamar Odom as he recovers from a drug overdose in the hospital, filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and promoting her new book, Strong Looks Better Naked. Keeping up with her fans on social media to let them know of her progress, Khloe finally tweeted the good news that she’s out of quarantine, reported E! News.
Kardashian had cancelled some of her scheduled publicity tour appearances for the book, which disappointed fans. But Khloe plans to get back to her regular busy schedule, and she alerted the world on Twitter.
“I’m so blessed I’m doing better and my infection is healing,” posted Kardashian. “I was able to be out and about today… Quarantine is over lol!”
Khloe blamed part of her illness on the stress that she has experienced recently, from the family’s reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians to her book promotions to caring for her estranged husband. Talking with her sisters Kourtney and Kim, the 31-year-old reality TV star questioned why she always has to take responsibility for making the family business trips, reported the Daily Mail.
“I’m picking up the slack for my sisters,” complained Khloe, adding sarcastically, “They have so much going on in their personal lives and apparently I don’t.”
Kardashian also shared that she feels the stress she’s experiencing constantly exacerbated the symptoms of her staph infection. But are her sisters to blame, or is it the time and worry that Khloe had been pouring into Lamar’s recovery?
Although she has only postponed the divorce to Lamar, Odom still is in the hospital, struggling to regain his health, as the Inquisitr reported. With brain damage described as resulting from strokes and oxygen deprivation, Lamar most likely will remain in the hospital for awhile, and even after leaving, he will need care. He has problems with basic skills such as walking and communicating.
That leaves the question of where Odom will spend Thanksgiving. Kardashian has gotten stuck with the responsibility of hosting Thanksgiving for the family for the second year in a row, according to ET.
But Khloe insists that it’s fun — well, sort of.
“I start preparing the day before and then, on Thanksgiving Day, I start at 7 a.m.,” revealed Kardashian. “It’s just fun and I love to cook.”
However, although she has a portfolio of recipes on which to rely, such as mac and cheese, Khloe believes in the proper table settings. That means out with the “porcelain turkeys” and in with floral pieces that can be reused.
As for who will attend the Kardashian family’s Thanksgiving dinner? Lamar Odom won’t be present, according to Radar Online.
In addition to having Khloe banned from the hospital due to her staph infection, Lamar will be focused on welcoming Liza Morales, the mother of his children, 13-year-old Lamar Jr. and 17-year-old Destiny. The trio are due in Los Angeles the day before Thanksgiving or early that morning. And apparently, no one will be longing for Khloe to be present, a source told Radar.
“Khloe had made the kids’ previous visits uncomfortable because she refused to leave the room,” that insider revealed.
As for Caitlyn Jenner?
Khloe’s stepparent also will be missing at the Kardashian family Thanksgiving table, according to the Daily Mail.
However, although Caitlyn will not be present for the turkey festivities, Jenner is anticipated to join the family for Christmas, said Khloe in a recent interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“She’s still part of our family. It’s still our Dad, we say, which I know is confusing to some people, but that’s how we know her,” clarified Kardashian. “And she’s not gonna be with us on Thanksgiving because she’s working, but she’ll be with us for Christmas, for sure.”
