‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Glenn May Still Be Alive, But He Wasn’t The One Calling For Help
The Walking Dead is keeping fans on edge about the fate of Glenn, but a new spoiler indicates that a mysterious walkie talkie call at the end of the last episode was actually a bit of a red herring.
For each of the last few weeks, fans have tuned into the zombie horror-drama in the hopes of learning the fate of fan-favorite Glenn, who appeared to be torn apart by a horde of walkers.
Those fans got a glimmer of hope last week when Daryl received a crackling call for help on his walkie talkie at the end of last week’s episode. Many believed it was Glenn, who was spotted earlier in the year (and in AMC promo photos) with a walkie talkie clipped to his pants.
But Cinema Blend revealed that it was not Glenn on the other end of the call for help.
“Last Sunday night, we watched as Daryl survived a run-in with The Saviors – or at least some people who had escaped that group – and the episode ended with an anonymous call for help coming over the walkie-talkie. We’ve shared our guesses on who that voice might have belonged to, and now that person has been revealed. Are you ready? It was Eugene.
“That’s right. Not Glenn. Not Rick. Not Dwight. Not a mystery man in the moon. Eugene. If that’s enough info for you, back away!”
The report went on to cite The Spoiling Dead Fans, which claimed that fans won’t even be finding out this week who made that mysterious call. In fact they will have to wait all the way until the Season 6 midseason finale to learn who is at the other end. There is other drama ahead, the report noted, including the walkers breaking into Alexandria and causing havoc.

If the spoilers are true, then Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead may not be too satisfying to fans hoping to learn if Glenn is still alive. But the signs are looking good, with a number of clues that he somehow survived what appeared to be an inevitable death.
Movie Pilot points out some shots from Glenn’s apparent death scene, showing that it was actually Nicholas who fell on top of Glenn. So as viewers saw someone being disemboweled, it was actually the recently departed Nicholas.
The report added that a picture taken from the set shows Steven Yeun on the set at the same time as Tom Payne, the British actor who is playing the yet-to-be-introduced character known as Jesus. And those following along closely know that Glenn will be back to The Walking Dead at some point, and in some way. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple addressed Glenn’s death on the Talking Dead podcast, saying that the fan-favorite is coming back soon.
He said the following (via Variety).
“And knowing you’d all be talking and feeling and commiserating, I knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say. So I’ll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story, to help complete the story.”
Fans of The Walking Dead will may not have to wait a bit longer to find out if the spoilers are true and if Glenn is really dead. Rumors suggest that if it’s not addressed on Sunday’s episode, then there is only one more episode left until the show returns in February.
