‘Fifty Shades Of Black’ Trailer: Marlon Wayans Spoofs ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ With Slavery Gag
The Fifty Shades of Black trailer is here to show you what happens when Fifty Shades of Grey gets a few shades darker.
Christian Grey’s very “singular” tastes shocked virginal Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey, but Marlon Wayan’s mysterious Christian Black is even more twisted than E. L. James’ billionaire businessman with a BDSM pleasure dungeon. In the Fifty Shades of Black trailer, Marlon Wayan’s kinky character has a thing for using different whips on his women, and a lot of people are probably going to be offended by the sex toys he chooses — it seems as though his whips are replicas of those used in movies and TV series about slavery, including Roots, Django Unchained, and 12 Years A Slave.
Christian Black’s disturbing fetish for whips like those used on slaves makes him seem just a smidgen more sadistic than Christian Grey. And this isn’t the only way Fifty Shades of Black differs from Fifty Shades of Grey.

Mr. Black and the object of his obsession get to the pain stuff much sooner in Fifty Shades of Black. Shortly after Hannah (Black Jesus star Kali Hawk) interviews Mr. Black, she has a painful encounter with the elevator that doesn’t involve any spanking or bondage — the doors slam on her head. An angry Christian Black then tells the blonde clones in his office to take care of it.
“White girls, get that elevator fixed,” he tells his employees. Apparently, referring to fair-skinned blondes who look alike as “white chicks” is so 2004.
The Fifty Shades of Black photoshoot scene includes a recreation of Kim Kardashian’s infamous PAPER magazine cover, complete with a sparkly black dress and a champagne glass balanced on Christian Black’s backside. It seems as though he has a few more kinks that Mr. Grey — he’s also into cross-dressing.
Another one of Christian Black’s kinks is evidently exhibitionism, because the Fifty Shades of Black elevator scene is a lot more crowded than the one in the original movie.
In Fifty Shades of Grey, Christian Grey started amassing his wealth by dropping out of college and starting his own business. In Fifty Shades of Black, Christian Black gets his money from stealing women’s purses and wealthy men’s cars.
Grey and Black’s dark pasts are also different. Christian Grey ended up being such a messed up adult because of his horrible childhood — he was abused as a child, his mother was a prostitute and drug addict who committed suicide when he was just four years old, and he was seduced by an older family friend when he was fifteen years old. This “Mrs. Robinson” introduced him to BDSM. However, Christian Black got into the seedy world of sex dungeons, dominants, and submissives by living out the Magic Mike movie. Apparently, he was traumatized after an overweight woman crushed his face with her lady bits.

Marlon Wayans made a shocking admission about his Fifty Shades of Black character during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Unlike Grey, Black is terrible in bed. However, he’s so rich that it doesn’t matter.
Wayans says his movie is “like Fifty Shades of Grey if Christian Grey was black and he was rich, but we don’t know exactly how he got his money, he’s a little shady, and he’s a really bad lover.”
According to Variety, Marlon Wayans also produced and co-wrote Fifty Shades of Black, along with partner Rick Alvarez. Wayans’ previous parody movie successes include the Scary Movie and A Haunted House films. In addition to Marlon Wayans and Kali Hawk, the Black cast includes Mike Epps, Jane Seymour, Affion Crockett and Fred Willard.
Fifty Shades of Black hits theaters on January 29, 2016, so you’ll be able to take your date to see it for Valentine’s Day. And in case you’re wondering, there’s no word on whether Wayans’ movie will include the infamous tampon scene that didn’t make it from the book to the silver screen in the original Fifty Shades of Grey film.
