‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers: Glenn Alive, Saved By Enid In Episode 7? [Rumors]
When it comes to The Walking Dead spoilers, Glenn’s “death” scene has occupied almost all of the discussion regarding TWD Season 6. The mid-season Walking Dead finale is coming up within two episodes, so it seems very likely that if Steven Yeun’s Glenn is alive, then he will make an appearance this Sunday or the next.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, during the last episode of TWD, a voice was heard over the radio, and many fans thought it might be evidence that Glenn is alive. Norman Reedus quickly batted down those TWD rumors (Negan reference totally intended), but there is other evidence that Glenn survived becoming dumpster food for the zombies.
The Walking Dead Rumors: Glenn Alive In New Dumpster Scene?
Many fans want Glenn to be alive, but the show producers even went the extra step of removing Steven Yeun’s name from both the opening credits and the IMDb database. Speculation continues to live on, and a recently leaked video seems to show that Negan is taking a swing with Lucille at someone kneeling next to Glenn. But for Glenn to be alive when facing Negan, we have to see what happened in the aftermath of his “death” scene.
The working theory is that Glenn will show up again in The Walking Dead Season 6, Episode 7 this Sunday. Some say that Enid will rescue Glenn from behind the dumpster, or that Glenn will use a flare to distract the zombies while he scrambles away from underneath Nicholas’ dead body.
Katelyn Nacon, the actress who plays Enid in TWD, said fans will be “pleasantly surprised” the next time we see her. At the same time, Nacon claimed this comment had nothing to do with rescuing Glenn.
“[When I said that] I didn’t even know Glenn died in the next episode because I haven’t gotten the scripts since I haven’t been in the episodes because she’s gone,” Nacon said, according to Wet Paint. “I don’t really know what happens in these next few episodes.”
This does not mean the theory is without merit. According to the Spoiling Dead Fans, Glenn’s death scene was filmed in early June, but for filming Episode 7 the film crew was spotted returning to the alleyway with the dumpster. Both Glenn and Enid were spotted in costume during this filming time, which seems to indicate that Glenn is alive (or at least Steven Yeun had yet to be zombified by the makeup crew).
There is other evidence that Glenn is alive. We do know for certain the Glenn will be shown again in future TWD episodes based upon comments made by producer Scott Gimple.
“I knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say,” Gimple said. “So I’ll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story, to help complete the story.”
In other Walking Dead spoilers for Season 6, it has been noted that Steven Yeun was photographed standing next to a character presumed to be Jesus, who has not even appeared yet at all on the TV series. Glenn’s death at this point would also be a major departure from the graphic novels, although the two universes separated a long time ago.
One thing is for certain. We are likely to see something exciting in future The Walking Dead Season 6 episodes.
“It’s freakin’ awesome, and there’s so many cool things to come. It’s just a bunch of twists and turns, so you never really know what’s going to happen, but when it does you’re like ‘Oh crap!'” Katelyn Nacon promised. “It’s just a really exciting season with tons of twists and turns. It’s a lot of fun.”
The actress also said she is excited to see the rest of Enid’s history.
” I would love to learn more about her exact backstory… She’s smart. She learned how to survive at least for a week,” Katelyn explained. “I don’t know [if she could survive] for a very long time, but I know that if she did have to survive on her own she would try her hardest not to die and let her parents down. She wouldn’t give up easily.”
