Ariel Winter Shares Adorable Bikini Pic On Instagram, Gets Attacked By Body Shamers

Teen TV actress Ariel Winter slammed people on social media who said that she was “asking for it,” referring to a recent photo she posted on the image-sharing site, Instagram.

The Modern Family star recently posted a picture of herself posing with her two cute nieces.

However, after posting the photo on Instagram, she immediately received negative comments from netizens who said that she was “asking for it.”

In her follow-up post, the 17-year-old star said that it is shameful that such an innocent photo with her young nieces would turn out to be an insult to her. She believes that the dress a girl chooses to wear does not imply anything. It is merely a way to express herself. “The height of a girl’s skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for,” she said in the post. In addition, she said that this mindset of people on social media “sickens” her.

In the reply, Ariel Winter also included a photo that showed how people react to a woman depending on the length of her skirt. The image shows labels for long-skirt-wearing women such as “matronly,” “prudish,” “proper,” and “old-fashioned,” while those who prefer shorter skirts were categorized as “flirty,” “cheeky,” and “provocative.”

The last portion included micro-minis, which were described as “asking for it,” “slut,” and “whore.”

“You are not asking for anything because of what you are wearing – you are expressing yourself and don’t you ever think you deserve the negativity as the consequence to what you are wearing – YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL,” Winter said.

The singer and actress also said that she is standing up for people who are constantly bullied, whether at school or on the Internet.

This is not the first time that Ariel Winter fought back against her body shamers.

Earlier this month, the actress teamed up with pop star Ariana Grande in discouraging bullying.

A netizen commented on Winter’s body and compared her to the “Focus” singer. However, in response, Grande, 22, said that “diversity is sexy,” and that people should learn and accept themselves for who they are.

Winter thanked Grande for the post, and said that people should stick together in empowering women, as well as fighting bullying. Meanwhile, fans of the Modern Family actress showed their support for Winter. One commenter said that she is gorgeous, and that people are just being cruel. “She looks effing good in it. Stop cyber bullying,” the commenter added. Another said that there is clearly nothing wrong with the picture, and it is simply a lovely picture with family.

The commenter also said that she should not allow people to tell her otherwise. “Aren’t there millions of other girls that post pics in a swimsuit?” another commenter asked on the image sharing website. “What’s the problem? She looks great.”

Another Instagram user said that she should just keep doing what she’s doing and forget all the negativity that bashers and critics are giving her.

Several months ago, Ariel Winter went under the knife and underwent breast reduction. It was due to the fact that it bothered her on the Modern Family set, where she was supposed to play the role of a younger teenager.

In addition, she said her breast size, which was previously 32F, gave her problems when choosing wardrobe for events.

“I’d have to wear the dress that was super tight and form-fitted everywhere because if I didn’t, it didn’t look good. I didn’t really have an option other than to wear fitted clothes,” she said.

But now that she’s gone through breast reduction surgery, Ariel Winter stated that she feels like a new person.
