Shock In Hollywood Over Unnamed ‘Playboy’ Actor With HIV [Updated]

Tinseltown is in an uproar after reports that a middle-aged playboy actor, notorious for his womanizing, is HIV positive. This news has now been updated below.

Worries are that the actor may have infected many glamorous women with whom he has had affairs.

Thought to have indulged in “decades of debauchery,” some media reports are saying that his actions have finally caught up with what is said to be one of Hollywood’s “megastars.”

Reportedly, RadarOnline was the first to break the story of the actor being diagnosed with the HIV virus, which weakens the immune system and can develop into full-blown AIDS. Now, as the actor refuses to go public, many female stars in Tinseltown are extremely anxious to know who he is, and whether they may have been exposed to the virus.

The actor has apparently been “devastated” since he was diagnosed with HIV around two years ago, but reportedly has continued to engage in sexual activities that may have put further people at risk. While no one is saying who the Hollywood actor actually is, so far clues state that he is middle-aged and is notorious for a playboy lifestyle, reportedly “filled with one-night stands and sex-for-hire partners.”

A newspaper quoted a source yesterday as saying the Hollywood playboy’s lawyers are already bracing for legal action from women the actor has consciously put at risk of contracting HIV, stating, “It has now become common knowledge that this star is HIV positive, something he has known for a number of years.”

The source continued by saying that, if the actor knowingly put women at risk, this was disgusting, adding that it is only a matter of time before this becomes public.

The Mirror Online carried the story with the headline that the “Hollywood actor with HIV deserves everything he gets and worse” and goes on to quote the statistics for HIV in various areas of the world, especially Africa.

The star reportedly told his friends he was HIV positive back in October 2013. While the actor’s friends are urging him to go public about his condition in an effort to help combat the spread of the virus, the star is apparently more worried about his status as a well-known actor than what he may have done to someone else. He is apparently terrified that the news would kill his acting career in Hollywood.

While the news has caused a panic similar to that experienced back in the 1980s over the HIV virus, some campaigners are more alarmed about the furor over the story than anything else. The Guardian quotes a spokesman for the Terrence Higgins Trust in the UK as saying anyone diagnosed with the virus is “given treatment that reduces the amount of HIV virus to an “undetectable” amount, and this means HIV cannot be passed on.”

That may be true after the patient is diagnosed and starts receiving treatment, but it is obviously not the case before that diagnosis. RadarOnline reportedly said that the actor in question believes he is “indestructible” and has taken few precautions in the past to protect himself or his sexual partners, even while indulging in high-risk behavior.

Rumors are rife that the Hollywood playboy has been paying a former lover $20,000 a month to keep his secret, after she found HIV medicine in a bathroom cabinet in his home. The women allegedly took photos of the medicine and threatened to go public.

Meanwhile rumors are doing the rounds in the social media, with people speculating who the infected actor could be and many women are reportedly rushing to have HIV tests done to set their minds at rest. As for the actor, his friends stress that his worst fear is that he will be remembered as someone who contracted the disease and not as a great Hollywood actor.

While it is unknown whether the story of the Hollywood playboy with HIV is true, with Tinseltown being a relatively small place, the truth is sure to come out soon.

Update: Many websites are reporting the rumor that the playboy concerned may be actor Charlie Sheen. According to Today, Sheen is set to make an appearance on Tuesday to make a personal announcement of some kind during an interview with Matt Lauer.

The actor’s ex girlfriend recently took to Twitter saying she had been tested for HIV and that things are “stressful.”

Update 2: It’s now official, Charlie Sheen admitted to having the HIV virus on the Today show Tuesday. He said he decided to come clean as he was being blackmailed on the issue. He reportedly has no idea how he contracted the virus.
