‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer Almost ‘Complete’ And To Be Released ‘Soon,’ Insist Russo Brothers
Captain America: Civil War’s directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, have revealed that the first trailer for the blockbuster is nearly “complete” and should be out very soon.
The Russo Brothers made this revelation during an impromptu question and answer session that followed a panel they’d completed at a Cleveland Community College, via Reddit.
After completing a panel and discussion about how they came to be a directing team, as well as providing ideas for how to start a career in film, the duo were inundated with questions regarding Captain America: Civil War and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Reddit user MrMaverick576 asked when Civil War’s first trailer will be released, to which Anthony explained, “The trailer is almost complete. With just a few special effects left edit in, it should be out soon. You’re really going to enjoy it.”
There have even been reports, via Comic Book, that the trailer for Captain America: Civil War was actually premiered by the Russo Brothers at a special event that was hosted by Cleveland Film. Descriptions of the trailer have also emerged on Reddit, written by WatsUpWithJoe, and if you don’t want to learn of any SPOILERS that could potentially be in it then don’t read ahead.
OK, inside the trailer you get to see Anthony Mackie’s Falcon using a robotic Red Wing, which is a drone that is tracking an armored vehicle. This little snippet then sees Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow join in with Falcon to try and stop the automobile.
We also got a look at Frank Grillo’s Crossbones in his superhero suit, as well as taking place in another action set piece that sees him going toe-to-toe with Chris Evans’ Captain America, and it sees Crossbones tell Steve Rogers, “Remember me? You dropped a building on my face!”
Meanwhile, there are also glimpses of Paul Bettany’s Vision sat inside an arm chair wearing a suave black suit and tie, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther fighting Captain America, and then Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man putting on his rather bulky armor that allegedly looks a “bit bulkier.”
There’s also an interchange between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, which sees Iron Man tell his fellow Avenger, “I want to punch you in your perfect teeth.”
Then there’s also a glimpse of Martin Freeman’s character, William Hurt’s Captain General Ross, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, and then Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man is introduced, and the diminutive superhero can’t help but fawn over Captain America.
In fact, Rudd uses his comedic skills to act like a fan boy over meeting Cap, stating while shaking his hand for a little too long, “You know so many super powered people, thinks for thanking of me… Thanks for thinking of me… I’m still shaking your hand.”
Then, the trailer for Captain America: Civil War concludes with Captain America’s team and Iron Man’s teams charging towards each other. It then finally finishes with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye pinning down Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow to the ground and then asking, “Are we still friends?” To which she then responds, “Depends on how hard you hit me.”
This is when it then cuts to the title card for Captain America: Civil War, which is due out on May 5, 2016 and has been described as Avengers 2.5 because of the fact that it includes so much of the cast of the superhero hybrids.
This trailer for Captain America: Civil War originally premiered back in August 2015 at the D23 Expo and, like its greeting at the Cleveland Film event, it was met rapturously.
