Jim Bob Duggar And Wife Michelle Are Dropped From Canada Homeschool Convention, Reason Because Of Josh Duggar Controversy
It looks like Jim Bob Duggar will not be heading to Canada anytime soon, at least not to speak at the Alberta Home Education Association conference that is expected to be held in Red Deer next year. The dad that is best known for producing 19 kids with his wife, Michelle, were supposed to make a keynote speech in April. However, they have now been dropped from the schedule.
The announcement came on Sunday as Yahoo Canada reported that the Duggars will not be speaking at all. The AHEA sent out a press release stating that, since many members have negatively commented on their appearance, they have chosen to cancel Jim Bob and Michelle’s speech.
“Although early feedback from our members this summer was supportive of having the Duggars come here, recent feedback from our own members points out that their appearance here would not be in the best interest of home educators.”
It looks like their once respected image has been tarnished by the Josh Duggar controversy from the last few months since their eldest child was caught cheating on his wife and word got out of the sexual misconduct with his younger sisters.

The AHEA mentioned on Friday that they were reconsidering having Jim Bob and Michelle give their speech. Then two days later, they made it official that they had been dropped completely. The reality TV couple was supposed to give two speeches to the audience, but since there are over 40 talks scheduled, the members and officials decided that the Duggars would not be missed. They also pointed out that their homeschooling philosophy is different than theirs.
“Our members so pointed out that, as the Duggar’s would have been giving only two talks (of the more than 40 talks available), their presence would have been only a small part of the convention and the Duggars’ philosophy is not representative of AHEA as a whole.”
This well-known family is known for homeschooling their 19 kids, with the older ones eventually teaching their younger siblings much of the time. It works well for them. However, Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle have taken heat over their homeschool principles, as well as their conservative views and the way they raise their family. Some have said that their way of raising their kids may have led to Josh Duggar’s misconduct over the years.
Jim Bob and Michelle may not have their own reality show any longer on TLC, but two of their daughters have snagged their own time slot on the network. Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard have their reality show coming out in December, called Jill and Jessa: Counting On. It will feature Jill’s life with her family, Derick Dillard and son Israel, as they continue their missionary work, and also Jessa’s pregnancy with her first child and, hopefully, the birth as well.
The rest of the Duggar family may be seen once in a while on the TLC show, but the main focus will be on the girls. According to the Hollywood Gossip, daddy Jim Bob is hoping to get back on track with getting back on the network that brought his family so much fame.
Sources said that he wants the whole family back on television, not just his two daughters. It is being said that Jim Bob Duggar is only interested in getting his name, and his family, back in a positive spotlight. That also means more money in his pocket.
However, these are unnamed sources who are spilling these details and Jessa Seewald had previously warned her fans about not believing any report that has unknown sources behind them. Just recently, she had posted a photo of her holding up a magazine cover saying that she had already given birth when it was clear that she was still very pregnant.
