An armada of bright blue orb UFOs was seen over Bakersfield in California last week.
According to a report filed as case No. 71618 in the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database, on October 16, 2015, a witness heard a neighbor shouting his name from across the street. The neighbor appeared to be in panic, and the witness thought he needed help urgently. So he ran out to help.
But when he got outside , he was shocked to see hundreds of moving bright bluish white lights in the sky. The fleet of bright lights was spread over a wide expanse of the sky, about 40 to 50 blocks, the witness estimated.
Shocked at the sight, the witness ran back indoors to call his wife and children. By the time his family came out to witness the spectacle, several cars had pulled over and people in the neighborhood were coming out of their homes, gazing up in shock and amazement as the blue lights moved slowly over the city.
The people watched as the lights moved in a formation, rising higher and higher until they disappeared in the night sky.
The witness was able to snap photos of the lights in the sky. But he said the photos do not give an accurate impression of the expanse of the lights because it shows less than a quarter of the entire fleet spread across the sky.
The witness said he ran indoors to grab his camera and tripod in the hope of being able to snap a clearer photo, but by the time he came out, the orbs were even more dispersed and the lights dim because the orbs had risen much higher in the sky.
The witness was also able to snap other strange sights in the sky that sparked rumors of chemtrail planes over Bakersfield.
The report and photos have sparked a debate among online UFO enthusiasts.
“These are optical impression. The UFOs fly that fast that it’s just in the click moment of the camera. Ronald Reagan encountered a UFO near Bakersfield also… maybe there are more under this area.”
“That happened to me once… a fire like orb was seen by my eyes but when I put the cam up nothing registered…”
“I have seen similar sight in N.Z. (Rotorua) only the UFOs were bright red, when I tried filming them at first they weren’t showing up… I thought they were (Chinese) lanterns but on closer examination found they were not.”
“If they had a red glow they were probably Chinese lanterns released in a batch.”
“Ronald Reagan encountered a UFO near Bakersfield when he was governor of California…”
Some enthusiasts thought they could be Chinese lanterns released in a large batch. Others were convinced they were a fleet of alien UFO orbs on a reconnaissance mission. A few thought they could be holographic projections in the sky.
Many enthusiasts reported having witnessed similar sights in the past.
Based on photos showing a streak of light in the sky during the sighting, some speculated that the lights could be linked to chemtrail planes spraying biological and chemical agents over Bakersfield (see below).
Many recalled that former President Ronald Reagan reported sighting a UFO over Bakersfield when he was governor of California. The recollection led some UFO enthusiasts to suggest the possibility that aliens have a UFO base in the vicinity of Bakersfield.
Reagan had reported sighting a UFO while flying in a Cessna Citation aircraft in 1974 with four other persons, including his pilot, Bill Paynter, and two security guards. The UFO was sighted flying several hundreds of yards from the plane approaching an airport in Bakersfield.
According to the Paynter, “It was a fairly steady light until it began to accelerate. Then it appeared to elongate. Then the light took off. It went up at a 45-degree angle at a high rate of speed. Everyone on the plane was surprised. The UFO went from a normal cruise speed to a fantastic speed instantly. If you give an airplane power, it will accelerate-but not like a hot rod, and that’s what this was like.”
Reagan later told a Wall Street Journal reporter that they observed the UFO for several minutes. He described it as a bright white light that shot up suddenly.
According to accounts, Reagan appeared to rue talking about the incident publicly after the reporter, identified as Normal Miller, Washington bureau chief for Wall Street Journal , expressed disbelief.
He reportedly never talked about the incident after that.
