Lamar Odom Dead? Reports Claim NBA Player Is Brain Dead, Source Claims It ‘Does Not Look Good’

Lamar Odom is allegedly brain dead after being found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel, with reports claiming that the prognosis for the former NBA player does not look good.

Odom was found unresponsive on Tuesday at a Nevada brothel and has been airlifted to a hospital. While there are no official updates yet, some celebrity news outlets have quoted sources saying the prognosis looks grim and others claim Odom is brain dead, with virtually no chance of recovery.

A report from E! News claimed that employees at the brothel called 911 and placed Odom on his side, at which time he began spitting up blood. He was airlifted to a hospital.

A report from Radar Online claimed that Lamar Odom had been taking herbal Viagra and drinking alcohol and that he told the female companions that he wanted to spend the night alone. When one of the women went to check on him on Tuesday, he was unconscious. It is not known how long he might have been in that state, witnesses said.

Odom is now in a hospital, where he is reportedly not breathing on his own.

“It doesn’t look good,” said the source. “Who knows what will happen but this could have done irreparable harm.”

The report from E! News has not confirmed rumors that Lamar Odom is brain dead but did quote a source who said that his outlook “did not look good.”

TMZ also echoed the grim prognosis for Lamar Odom.

“The manager rolled Lamar over on his side and saw ‘mucus-type liquid coming out of his nose and mouth.’ An ambulance took Lamar to Pahrump hospital, where doctors intubated him… an indication he could not breathe on his own. We’re told Lamar is being airlifted from the hospital to Las Vegas for more treatment. Our sources tell us, ‘It’s not good.'”

Some outlets compared the situation to Bobbi Kristina Brown, the late daughter of Whitney Houston, who in January was found unconscious in her home. Brown remained in a coma for several months, reportedly with no signs of brain activity, before passing away this summer.

Sources close to Lamar Odom said they were worried about his behavior lately, with some saying that he was partying in his new home in Las Vegas and spiraling into addiction. Odom had very publicly struggled with drugs in recent years, with addictions blamed for ending both his marriage and his NBA playing career.

Lamar Odom’s drug addiction was reportedly a major reason for his split with Khloe Kardashian. She and other members of the Kardashian family are reportedly en route to the Nevada hospital where he is fighting for his life.

Sources claim that Lamar Odom was on even more of a downward spiral after his divorce from Kardashian and the recent death of friend Jamie Sangouthai, who passed away on June 15 of an alleged drug overdose. Friends say Lamar was devastated at his friend’s death, and not long afterward another friend, Bobby Heyward, also died of a suspected overdose.

But other sources claim that Odom was turning his life around in Las Vegas, and he was focusing on improving his health. Reports indicate that he was going to the gym regularly, and others who had seen Odom in recent weeks claim he appeared to be doing much better.

So far, the reports that Lamar Odom is brain dead have not been confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates.
