Emma Watson Boyfriend Rumors: Actress Is Reportedly Dating ‘Harry Potter’ Actor [Rumor]

Photos of UN Ambassador and renowned actress Emma Watson stood alongside another man have instantly led the internet to assume that she is dating him. The man in question is Roberto Aguire, who she originally met while they worked on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

While Aguire didn’t actually star in the fourth installment to the Harry Potter film series, he has since become a rather successful actor in recent years.

As the Mirror reported, Emma Watson was recently spotted walking alongside the 25-year-old actor in Los Angeles, which immediately led to speculation that the pair were more than just good pals. The duo were seen enjoying a lunch together in Los Feliz, California, on Sunday, October 4.

The pair have actually been friends now for over a decade, with Roberto Aguire having worked in an internship at the special effects department on The Goblet of Fire. Since then, the pair have been spotted regularly together, with Aguire even taking Watson to the Tribeca Film Festival premiere for Boulevard, in which he co-starred.

Obviously, this immediately led to fevered speculation that the pair were now an item. But Aguire has always maintained that they are just friends. In fact, back in 2012, he spoke to Just Jared about how they came to be such close acquaintances and why Emma Watson is so important to him.

“I was doing an internship in the special effects department at the time,” he explained. “And one day we had a chance encounter that led to us spending half a day together exchanging stories and dance moves. We never really lost touch after that and now she’s one of my best friends.”

Speaking of why Emma Watson joined him on the red carpet at Tribeca, Aguire added, “I am so grateful to her for coming to Tribeca. She’d seen the movie beforehand and really loved it, but she said she wanted to come to the premiere regardless to support the movie and to make sure I didn’t trip over my own two feet on my first red carpet! There was a high probability coming into it that I would.”

Aguire is a man of many talents. Having been born in Los Angeles to Mexican parents, he was then moved to Switzerland, where he was subsequently raised. However, he decided to return to the United States to study at the famed New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

After dabbling in special effects with his internship on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Aguire moved into both acting and producing. He has since had roles in Sand Sharks, Struck by Lightning, which he also produced, and Boulevard. He also appeared as the character of Orion on NCIS: New Orleans for two episodes.

Meanwhile, Emma Watson’s relationship with Matt Janney ended last December. They had been dating for around a year. Back in August Emma Watson admitted that, even before the end of her relationship, she went on a silent retreat in order to find herself.

Speaking to Vogue U.K. about her reasons for this, Watson explained, “I felt really uncomfortable. Even before my relationship ended, I went on a silent retreat, because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself.”

This saw her visit a private facility in Canada’s Rocky Mountains. At this establishment, those in attendance are required to remain completely silent for seven whole days.

However, despite the demise of this relationship, Watson was still positive about her past experiences, insisting, “The boyfriends or partners I’ve had have generally made me feel really cherished. They’ve built me up. I certainly haven’t found that with doing all that I do or being all that I am, that I’ve struggled in my love life. I just think it’s very patronising towards men. It undermines them.”
