Mike Tyson One Man Broadway Show Being Directed by Spike Lee

Mike Tyson recently performed a handful of one man shows in Las Vegas which he titled Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth and now as the former heavyweight champion of the world prepares to bring that one-man show to New York City and Broadway he will be getting help from movie director Spike Lee.

Sources close to the production revealed to TMZ that the production will be tweaked by Spike Lee in order to make it a more well rounded show for the Great White Way. Lee’s main goal will be to make the show transition well to a much more critical audience by making to Broadway friendly.

Spike Lee is said to be working with Broadway theater mogul Jimmy Nederlander Jr. who owns a bunch of Broadway hot spots where Tyson could potentially show off his story telling chops.

If all goes well Mike Tyson could be performing on Broadway by Summer 2012.

Tyson isn’t an acting veteran but he has had the opportunity to perform in several movies including The Hangover and The Hangover II along with the hip-hop drama “Black and White” where he played himself. Tyson also appeared on the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen but that performance was more painful to watch than anything else.

The former boxers one-man show is an autobiographical account of Tyson’s life and was co-written by Randy Johnson (creator of “Elvis in the Concert” and “One Night With Janis Joplin) and Tyson’s wife Kiki.
