‘Real Housewives Of Orange County’ Cast Member Vicki Gunvalson Quits Series After Filming Season 10 Reunion? ‘Time To Move On’

The Real Housewives of Orange County has yet to be renewed for an 11th season, but already, casting rumors regarding the next installment continue to swirl. Most recently, just hours after the cast, including Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Barney, Heather Dubrow, Shannon Beador, and Meghan King Edmonds, filmed the Season 10 reunion, a report surfaced, claiming Gunvalson had quit after production.

Following filming, Gunvalson, the longest-running star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, took to her Instagram account, where she wrote, “What a shocking season finale. Glad it’s over. Time to move on to a bigger and brighter future.”

After reading the shocking comment, LALATE suspected on October 2 that Gunvalson could be ready to leave The Real Housewives of Orange County after seven years and 10 seasons. The site also noted that Gunvalson had previously told the press she would “lose her housewife status” if she didn’t film with her then-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, whom she has since broken up with. According to LALATE, Gunvalson is currently earning in excess of $850,000 for each season of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Throughout the 10th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Gunvalson has been faced with hardships. First, Gunvalson lost her mother unexpectedly and was seen getting a call in which she was informed of her mother’s death while at a party with her Real Housewives of Orang County co-stars. Next, Gunvalson was faced with allegations surrounding her then-boyfriend’s possibly fake cancer. While Gunvalson was clearly distraught about the possibility of losing Ayers to cancer, many of her co-stars have had doubts about the diagnosis, and Meghan King Edmonds has even gone as far as to say she doesn’t believe he has cancer and likely “forged” his medical records on The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Edmonds’ allegations against Ayers have been so hurtful that the reality star, and ex-boyfriend of Gunvalson, has sent her a letter of cease and desist. According to an Us Weekly report, Ayers is threatening to sue his Real Housewives of Orange County co-star if she does not stop accusing him of faking cancer. Below is what Ayers to the magazine.

“Meghan has scoffed that ‘Oh my God, Brooks is threatening to sue me.’ But what people don’t know is I have sent her a formal letter from my attorney… demanding certain things, and I do have significant grounds if she doesn’t change her ways and she’s got an opportunity to do that. [This is] defamation. I’m hitting back. She has a chance to make it right and we’ll see if she does or not… [Meghan] doesn’t really care about me sincerely, she cares about being relevant on the show, and that saddens me, and that’s immaturity on her part. But my numbers have improved and my inflammations are gone. I’m not out of the woods, it doesn’t mean my cancer is gone, but I’m heading in the right direction.”

If The Real Housewives of Orange County is renewed for Season 11, the installment likely won’t begin filming until early next year, and a casting announcement likely wouldn’t be made until spring.

Because Vicki Gunvalson has been a part of The Real Housewives of Orange County since the show began in 2006, it is hard to picture the show without her, and many fans would certainly be disappointed to see her go. However, on shows like these, casts are often ever-changing, so there’s always a possibility she could part ways.
