It all started in 2003, when Kim Kardashian made a sex tape with her then-boyfriend, R&B singer Ray J. Four years later, the tape was allegedly leaked to Vivid Entertainment and released to the internet for the world to see.
But it looks like more secrets are coming out about Kim Kardashian’s sex tape. A new report in the Sun reveals the famous Kardashian sister initially wanted to keep the intimate video a secret. She did everything in her power to make sure that it never saw the light of day. Her prior intentions were never to become famous off the tape. Kardashian even filed a lawsuit against Vivid Entertainment before it was even launched through the adult entertainment company.
But then, Kim had a sudden change of heart. She decided to befriend both Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and Vivid CEO Steve Hirsch to profit off her adult video. Not only would Kim profit from each sale or download of the “leaked footage,” but so would her ex-boyfriend.
According to the report, Joe Francis helped work out a deal with Kim so she could receive earnings from the video, which helped rake in $4.5 million over time.
“Kim and Ray J received about $300,000 each for the tape and they would also receive a cut from the videos sold or downloaded. Kim duly dropped her lawsuit against Vivid. It just caught fire.”
Kim and Ray J both made a cut from the videos that were sold or downloaded online. The stars ended up making a cool $1.2 million monthly just from the online sales alone. The reported concluded that their video “is the best-selling sex tape ever.”

Magazine, both Kris Jenner and Joe Francis helped the oldest Kardashian sister become the sex symbol and pop culture icon that she is today, with her released footage.
So, how did Kris Jenner get involved with her daughters alleged leaked sex tape? According to the report, she convinced Kim to release the sex tape because found trust in Joe Francis. The alleged insider said that Kris always “found him entertaining and great company,” and it also helped that the Kardashian-Jenner clan “trusted him.”
The book may also reveal who was the first one to leak the sex tape of Kim Kardashian and Ray J. Some assumed that it was her then-best friend, Paris Hilton, who allegedly played it at a private party in front of their friends. Rumors also circulated that it was either Kris or Ray J who leaked the tape. But the book says that it’s still a mystery to this day.
“To this day it is not known how Vivid got hold of the tape. Kim has said she does not suspect Ray of handing it over but has hinted she knows who did.”
The infamous tape shows Kim and Ray J performing various sexual acts in the 39-minute long video. It helped bring the unknown socialite and starlet into the media when it allegedly leaked onto the internet. It also helped launch Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its many other spinoffs on the E! Network. Now, Kim has become one of the most talked about reality stars — and social media stars — in the world.
Fast forward eight years later, and she is now married to rapper Kanye West. The couple is already parents to 2-year-old daughter North West. Kardashian and West are also expecting their second child, a boy, this coming December. A new report via Inquisitr has speculated that her due date could be on Christmas day.
