California Comedian Plants Hilarious Fake Reviews At IKEA Store
California resident and Internet comedian, Jeff Wysaski, more commonly known as Obviousplant, has hit his latest victim. He visited an IKEA store and left funny fake reviews all over the store.
There have been various incidents in the past at many IKEA stores. It seems like the torture of exploring the labyrinthine warehouse-type outlets just attracts all the crazies, but also inspires a whole load of fun.
Recently, the Inquisitr reported the story of the bored guy who ran around an IKEA store, doodling rough outlines of penises using one of those famous free pencils the store gives you when you are browsing.
That same article included a video of a joker who had recently moved in with his girlfriend, but was trying to get out of the IKEA store as quickly as possible. He irritated the poor girl at no end by making up puns for all the weird Swedish product names displayed throughout the store and catching the whole thing on his camera.
Now, it seems Jeff Wysaski has taken up the challenge and has taken things just a little further by writing fake and very funny product reviews for various items in his local IKEA store. He then posted the images on his Imgur account.
Bored Panda quotes an interview Wysaski had with the Daily Dot, where he said, “I spend a lot of time online looking at art that other people make and thinking, ‘Oh, that’s funny. What makes that so funny?’…So I started making stuff for myself. I always wanted a career in comedy, and I realized that writing my own stuff and sharing my own stuff was the way to do it.”
Some of his IKEA store review work is included here. The images were posted on Wednesday and have already had 1,325,354 views at the time of writing.
The first image shows what looks like a multi-colored flashback from the sixties discovered in the IKEA store, which the reviews reflects is “how a couch would look the way dubstep sounds.”
By clicking next at the bottom of the image below, other reviews will be revealed, including a carpet review, which is apparently the “Worst magic carpet ever.”
Next in line, a review of a clock speaks of the time heading closer to the “heart-wrenching inevitability of death.”
Several other pieces of furniture in the IKEA store are apparently perfect for holding all kinds and sizes of pet snakes, including a plastic container, a bookshelf, and a small chair.
A cereal bowl, while it holds plenty of cereal, also apparently holds a lot of tears, as the “reviewer” says his wife has sadly left him.
A review of a modern wardrobe states that the stupid piece of furniture takes you to somewhere called “Narnia” where a lion keeps asking for your help. Then there’s a coffee table can be worn to make you look like a turtle and a futuristic lamp is made out to be something completely different.
