Samsung Galaxy S6, Apple iPhone 6s Comparison: Which Phone Is Better?
Samsung Galaxy users have been wondering if the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus phones are better. The flagship phones made their official launch at the Apple Event on Wednesday, September 9.
Now that Apple has finally unveiled its latest and greatest phone, some have been wondering how it compares to the Samsung Galaxy S6. Choosing between the iPhone 6s and Galaxy S6 can be a tough decision for some, especially since both phones include attractive designs and distinct features.
There is a distinct difference between the displays on Apple’s iPhone 6s and Samsung’s Galaxy S6. The iPhone comes with a 4.7-inch screen, while the Galaxy has a 5.1-inch panel. Galaxy S6 also wins when it comes to having a better resolution: 1,440 X 2,560 compared to 750 X 1,334. Samsung’s latest phone also has 577 ppi (pixels per inch) compared to Apple’s 326. That’s a difference for those who have trouble viewing information on their phones.
Apple’s new iPhone has something that the Samsung Galaxy S6 doesn’t have, and that’s key features. According to a previous report via 24/7 Wall Street, it has a better camera and touch feature, although that may not be a big deal for Samsung consumers. The iPhone 6s has 3D Touch Technology, a pressure sensor that performs different actions depending on how hard you touch the screen. Samsung introduced the double tap and snap, which allows you to take pictures just by tapping the home button.
Apple also included a sensor with a higher MP count. It’s the first time that the iPhone has a 12 MP camera on the back that also enables 4K video recording. However, there is still no optical image stabilization. Samsung’s Galaxy S6 also offers a 16 MP camera with 4K video recording and has optical image stabilization. The Galaxy version also has a larger f/1.9 lens, which also works in low-light areas. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6s was upgraded to a 5 MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens that only does 720p video recording, while the Galaxy S6 also has a 5 MP sensor, but with f/1.9 aperture and 2K video recording.
Samsung’s Galaxy S6 wins when it comes to its larger MP count and optical image stabilization on the front camera. Apple decided to leave this incredible feature on the iPhone 6s Plus instead.
The iPhone 6s comes processed with the new A9 chip, while the Galaxy S6 has the Exynos chip built into its handset. Both phones are lightening fast, so it’s hard to choose a clear winner for this one.
When it comes to battery life, Samsung’s Galaxy S6 has a longer life than the iPhone 6, as seen in several battery life tests. The iPhone 6s also has a smaller battery than its competitor, which means that Samsung wins this competition once again.
Both phones support 4G LTE Advanced and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
Apple has kept the pricing for the iPhone 6s the same as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus. It costs $199 for a 16GB, $299 for a 64GB and $399 for the 128GB on a 24-month contract. Apple has also introduced the iPhone upgrade plan that allows you to purchase an unlocked iPhone on the carrier of your choice and allows you to upgrade to a new iPhone every year. Plans start at $32 per month.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 6s start Saturday, Sept. 12 and the device goes on sale on Sept. 25.
The pricing is similar to $32.41 per month for a 16GB Galaxy S6. The phone is also on sale for $129.99 on a two-year contract with AT&T or $149.99 with Sprint with as little as $0 down.
The iPhone 6s comes with a new rose gold option, along with silver, gold, and space gray. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is available in its new color option, Silver Titanium, along with Black Sapphire, White Pearl, and Gold Platinum. The iPhone is made from 7000 series aluminum, while the Galaxy S phones are made from with dual-curve glass display and aluminum alloy edges.
Which phone is better: Samsung’s Galaxy S6 or Apple’s iPhone 6s? It’s obvious that the Galaxy phones beat out the iPhones when it comes to having a higher-resolution screen, better camera, longer battery life, and affordable plans. However, some Apple lovers may be happy with the introduction of the iPhone 6s. It all depends on your personal preferences, especially since both phones have such distinct features.
The new iPhone may be better if love you Apple and its iOS, especially since it’s user-friendly. Be aware that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6s aren’t the only high-end smartphones out there.
